This is a very inspirational article about Edward P. Jones.

Thanks Anita I just got a chance to read this story. This little article gives you an interesting view into the man's life. Jones is an interesting fellow.

During a recent reading a woman asked the question about the research Jones put into the Known World. Jones said there really was no any research. The woman said she recalled reading somewhere (as did I) that parts of the story were true. Jones said he made it all up.

Jones was very unassuming and gracious during the reading (no matter how many times I see a gracious author who is 10 cities deep into a tour I'm always impressed). Thoug he did flash a glimpse of irritation as some woman's phone went off during the reading. The reading was almost all women. I was the only stag guy. The few other dudes were present with lady friends and seemed to have the same look on their faces that I had as a kid sitting in church 'cause my mother made me.

I was also sorry to read his mom busted her butt and never saw the fruits of her labor.

Didn't the part about his mom break your heart? And just think, of all the things he could have purchased for her he wanted her to have a television set. Every writer takes a different path on the writing road. I'm so happy he's receiving acclaim for all his hard work.
