Hello All,
I am approaching the middle of One Day I Saw A Black King by J. D. Mason. Man, Miss J. D. ain't nobody to play with! I am loving IT! Nice cover. I almost that it was a U go girl book. Hey, I'm sorry, but I can't take U go girl books anymore. Huh, might give me a rash or something. And you know I'm delicate. *LOL* But, One Day I Saw A Black King is shaping up to be a right nice book and J. D. Mason is going on my favorite authors list if the ending is as good as the beginning. |

Personally, I can't wait to read the entire book. I read the beginning a long time ago when she emailed it to me. J.D. is an excellent writer. We share the same agent. I hooked the sister up and even suggested that St. Martins read her first book, And on the 8th Day She Rested, which they picked up along with One Day I Saw a Black King. J.D. is also one of the contributors to Blackgentlemen.com, which shows my appreciation of her work since I only picked three other women to write it with me.

Hello All,
I finished One Day I Saw A Black King and I LOVED-ED IT!! The book is full. I couldn't put it down. J. D. Mason has really made an incredible impression on me this year. As you all know, earlier she released And On The Eighth Day She Rested which I adored. Then a few months later she followed up with One Day I Saw A Black King and again she hits it out of the park! If I had to give out a prize for the best new author of the year, Mason would get it hands down. I'm a bona fide fan of J. D. Mason now. I couldn't be more pleased!!
Zane: You ought to check out the rest of the book. It does get better. And that's saying alot because as you know the beginning of the book is incredible. I was hooked on page 2. It's not often that a book can hold my attention that tight and keep it. I think I like One DAy I Saw A Black King better than I did And On The Eighth DAy She Rested. Check it out and let me know what you think. |

I did purchase the book a couple of days ago and plan to read it this weekend. I am sure it will be an awesome read.

OMG!!! I stuck this one in my purse to take to the beauty salon because the one I was reading wouldn't fit and the prologue is ALL THAT! This has been on my reading list for a few months, but I'm positive I'm going to enjoy this one. I'll be back when I finish.
And Thump, I hear you on the "you go girl books" I'm a little tired myself and looking for something new to read. Whew...same ole-same ole!

I know i'm all late but i just joine this site and when i saw the title one day i saw a black king i had to post. Ya'll dont be mad at me but this is my book i could talk on this book all day lmao. I lovedddddddd this book.I fell in love with the charcters in this book.After reading this book I brought eight day but its hard to read for me cause i have been where the main charcter is in the past.But black king is the bomb,. |
