While checkin out the American Music Awards last night, I watched ol Beyonce do her thing. People always want to put her down but, to me, she has that "it" factor. There she was up there on stage scantily-attired, with those loooong legs, dancing away in those stilletto heels, belting our her latest hit. Awesome! Queen Latifa was salivating at the sight of her.

It was sure a night for the high-yella brigade. In accepting her awards, her monotone aside, Alicia Keys was at least gracious as opposed to Rihanna who comes across as a self-absorbed airhead. Then there was chubby-cheeked Mariah warbling away. She didn't win any awards but she had her young black stud in tow and didn't seem to be feeling any pain.

Paris Hilton made a perfect complement to DJ Pain (?); Miz Anne and her minstrel man. Kanye West is a certified eccentric. He served notice that he was the second coming of Elvis and, apparently satisfied that justice was served since he won in another category, he magnanimously bequeathed his Rap award to Lil Wayne whom he thought should have gotten it this year. Watta guy. For once his heart took a back seat to his ego. And so it went...

(She is a hard worker. Nobody shows up looking like she does without having a training regimen, diet, professional trainer--and probably a good source of meth, coke or some other wait controlling drug.

She is all image. She can't sing her damn way out of a paper bag. When she is no longer young and good looking that will be it.

If you want good music and talent and entertainment, awards shows are a waste of time)

If you've seen Beyonce's mother it's a pretty safe bet that Beyonce has the genes to age well.

Since you're stating opinion as fact when it comes to her habits, chrishayden, I would opine that the only thing Bey is addicted to is fame and a work-out regimen.

Beyonce is a pop princess, a charismatic entertainer who can carry a tune and shake her bootie - whose concerts sell out and whose albums debut at #1. I repeat: to me, she has the "it" factor.

BTW, she and her husband Jay-Z were just named by Forbes magazine as the #1 celebrity power couple, pulling in a combined income of 162 million over the past year. So the chances of the time coming when it will be over for her are unlikely.

Spoken like a true supermarket tabloid addict.

I bet your closet is overflowing with aging, yellowing issues of Screen Thrills and Tiger Beat.

If you would go back and read some of them, about Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, and on and on, you would do yourself a whole bunch of good.

They're all maniacs, perverts and dope addicts every one. They have to be or they wouldn't be in that business.

You're the one who is off the mark, chrishayden. You and your out of touch self is certainly no authority on this subject. What did I say about Beyonce that wasn't true??? You apparently have no idea what a pop princess is.

After all of the hot air you spewed about the presidential race proved you to be a blabbermouthed know-nothing, one would think you'd start learning to think before you open your yap.

(Pop Princess--talentless, highly groomed, paid and trained prostitute

Yes and they were all maniacs, perverts and dope addicts in my day too but at least they had talent.

You could blow up the American Music Awards with all those no talents inside and the next day they would have a whole new crew in their place and nobody would know they were gone.

We have had other periods like this in entertainment. Who remembers all the Disco Stars? How about that crowd of no talents like Fabian?

You don't know what you're talking about chrishayden. You're just blowing off steam.
Music like everthing else undergoes mutations. A new era is emerging, reflective of the times. The exponents of today's music are good at what they do. Their audiences relate to them. The music of the past still exists and is no way diminished by today's variations on a theme. You're an ol fart stuck in a rut.
