COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Tuesday that only Republican John McCain would think that Missouri is enjoying good economic times.
"I could walk from here to Springfield and I don't think I'd find a single, solitary person on the way who felt the economy was robust, strong and doing great unless I ran into John McCain along the way," Biden said during a town-hall forum at a fitness and recreation center.
Missouri, a swing state in the presidential election, is suffering through its highest unemployment rate in 17 years, 6.4 percent in July. The campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been running TV ads in Missouri highlighting a McCain comment that the fundamentals of the economy are strong.
"There's too much anxiety, there's too much lack of sense of what is going to happen," Biden said. "I understand, Barack understands, but, unfortunately, John McCain doesn't understand." |

You are still making the same mistake. Like the Democrats keep making.
The issues don't mean a thing. These elections are settled on popularity and "gut" issues.
The Democrats should be tying McCain and Palin to Bush. But so many of them backed him up in these disastrous policies they apparently can't.
Obama should be walking away with the election.
Black folk I'm around have quit even talking about him anymore. |

Gotta agree with Chris on this point. We should not assume that just because some folks scour the newspapers, voting records, and platforms of candidates/political parties to judge their fit with "issues" that everyone does this. |

This is also what I have been contending. The famous newspaper pundit H.L. Menken once remarked that nobody would go broke voting against the intelligence of the American public. The fact that a great percentage of white Americans still believe that Saddam Hussein was responsibile for 911, is an indication of how unsophisticated the average voter of this ilk is. These folks settle for simplistic solutions to complicated problems: elect John McCain and his feisty vice-president and America will be safe and secure and out of the hands of liberal n i g g e r-lovers. |

I have to agree with Cyn-Cyn ...I think her last sentence says it all ...really, maybe not for those voting for Obama but lets be real ...on what issues ..the most pressing issues ...would McCain be your choice ...lets start with the war ...that ridiculous farce ...vote for McCain and you virtually have the snake in the "Bush" ...Can't you hear it "I'd rather die and go to hell than have those "liberal n i g g e r - lovers" running anything ...that's the issue! |
