Barack Obama did the deed himself in his acceptance speech. This was a classic case of rope-a-dope. He used the energy, attacks and record of Bush/McCain and point-by-point sliced into them. The bar is set very high now for McCain. It seems that McCain's VP announcement is almost a so what by comparison.
Even Pat Buchanan said it was one of the best political speeches he has ever heard.

By revealing his vice president running mate to be Sarah Palin, the female Governor of Alaska, a 44-year-old staunch conservative, McCain has delivered a counter-punch in the hopes of attracting disaffected woman voters and shoring up his luke warm Evangelical base.
This is really going to be an interesting, hard-fought race for the presidency. |
