Who knows, his heart could have been heavy with Bernie's death. RIP.

I just saw that movie on VH1 Soul in June that featured Watts.(Cant recall the name) I always thought that he was a handsome man... but in that movie, back in the day Lord Have Mercy he was a beautiful specimen.

My heart goes out to his wife and family.

Ever more eerie, the order of the names and their positions in the picture.

There is a superstition that says stars die in threes.

Look for another famous person to pass within days...just hope it is not Sam Jackon.

there's also no such thing as "black hollywood."

there'd be more of a loss for us (politically) if our producers and writers kicked the bucket, (black directors not so much anymore). they are the hope we have of properly appropriating our image and likeness in tinseltown. actors do what they are told, and well, if they are to be considered good actors.

on the other hand, when given the opportunity to speak publicly (and of their own volition), with an ounce of sense in spite of all the non-sense, black actors ought to stop "tom-ing." it's about choices, and their choices indeed affect those of us who are silenced.

Chicago really gave its native son, Bernie Mac, a big send off this past Saturday.

From what I could gather from the TV clips, the public memorial tribute held in his honor attracted thousands of mourners and a smattering of celebrities, most notably his Kings Of Comedy cohorts who took turns blubbering their reminiscences along with Don Cheadle and Chris Rock and the ubiquitous Rev. Jesse Jackson. Even the mayor put in an appearance and offered a few words of praise.

Ol Bernie was really elevated to icon status. He was a good ol boy and deserved it.
