The hotly contested Democratic contest has spawned a political family feud of sorts within the famous Kennedy clan, prompting the children of Sen. Kennedy’s slain brother, Robert Kennedy, to affirm their support for Clinton.
“I respect Caroline and Teddy’s decision but I have made a different choice,” said Kathleen Kennedy Townsend in a statement released yesterday by the Clinton campaign after news of the senator’s endorsement was leaked.
Townsend also noted her brother Robert, an avid environmentalist, and Mary Kerry, a human rights activist, endorsed the New York senator.
Caroline Kennedy declared her support in a weekend New York Times op-ed, and in a state where devoted Irish-Catholics still dutifully keep portraits of JFK on their mantles, the late president’s daughter may be especially effective.
“It’s a special kind of endorsement,” said Paul Watanabe, political science professor at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
The latest SurveyUSA poll shows Clinton with a tidy lead in the Bay State, running with 59 percent compared to Obama’s 22 percent and former Sen. John Edwards’ 11 percent.

Kennedy family split
After news broke that Ted and Caroline were jumping on the Barack bandwagon, Kathleen Kennedy released the following statement reminding everyone that she supports Hillary.
“I respect Caroline and Teddy's decision but I have made a different choice. While I admire Senator Obama greatly, I have known Hillary Clinton for over 25 years and have seen first hand how she gets results. As a woman, leader, and person of deep convictions, I believe Hillary Clinton would make the best possible choice for president. She shares so many of the concerns of my father. Hillary has spent a lifetime speaking out on behalf of the powerless and working to alleviate poverty, in our country and around the world. I have seen her work up close and know she will be a great President. At this moment when so much is at stake at home and overseas, I urge our fellow Americans to support Hillary Clinton. That is why my brother Bobby, my sister Kerry, and I are supporting Hillary Clinton.”
Kathleen, Bobby and Kerry are the children of Robert F. Kennedy. Kathleen (who married into the Townsend family) was the lieutenant governor of Maryland from 1995 to 2003.

Senator Obama is going after the endorsements. Senator Clinton is going after delegates. Hillary is in Flordia today. She is banking on Florida delegates being reinstated, which they will be. |

The Kennedy's realize what the Clinton dawgs don't--these are the two dirtiest, sleaziest scumbags to ever try to run for the office as Democrats and it will be a non stop disaster if they win the nomination.

I just did. They took the high ground and had henchmen who went for the jugular at the behest of Bobby Kennedy. This includes, with the help of fellow Irishman Mayor Richard Daley, stealing the state of Illinois to get JFK elected. And, as I previously mentioned, JFK was a notorious womanizer who has been linked to the death of Marilyn Monroe. Not to mention the woman passenger in Ted Kennedy's car who drowned because of his drunken negligence. |

What an exercise in sophistry. Puleeze. Is that suppposed to be a rebuttal, crissy. The Kenndeys did, and the Clintons do play hard ball in elections which is a point that any political maven is aware of. JFK's campaign even had mob connections.
BTW, Clinton is of Irish heritage. Now go back to licking Peggy Noonan's toes like the groveling mutt that you are.  |

Interesting...
Rev. Jesse Jackson's clan are pulling something similar to what the Kennedys appear to be doing:
Jesse Sr. and Jesse Jr. (and U.S. Congressman) support Obama while matriarch Jackie (she even did commercials for Hillary that aired in South Carolina) and son Yosef (beer distributor) support Clinton.
Kinda makes you wonder whether the Kennedys and Jacksons are hedging their bets... |
