By Mari Walker. I didn’t think I’d like this book because the story line didn’t seem to be something I’d be interested in but I was wrong. Well, I didn’t really care for the story line mostly because unfortunately it's a story most of us have heard in real time before. But it is well written and the dialogue was so authentic it felt like I was listening to some folks on the street talking – very real. Plus it has a little something for everyone: love, sex, drugs, violence, family drama. None of the editing problems we sometimes find in stories about what happens in the streets [I’m not going to call this street lit because who the hell knows what that means and I don’t think this book falls into that category – whatever the hell that category is lol]. The sex scenes fit and were not overdone [almost but I could live with it and I know that’s what a lot of folks like – LiLi I’m talking to YOU lol]. I hope to see more from this new author, just a little different story line for old folks like me cause we’re way past all the street stuff [or should be!]. |
