This was a pretty good book, however upon finishing it I wondered why an ex Philadelphia policeman would write a book about a group that never had more than 40 members which was practically through by 1975 and that nobody outside Philly had ever even heard of.
Anybody got any ideas? |

Griffin has talked about the origins of the book a couple of times (at least from what I have seen - I am a Black Brothers, Inc. fan, too). There was a tv interview of him a couple of years ago where he got into how he was introduced to the topic, but I don't think it's on the net anywhere. I think it is because of the current Anti Muslim hysteria (the Black Mafia was supposed to have ties with the NOI in Philly through I think Temple# 12) and because some of the players are still on the scene and are powerful and influential in Philidelphia city politics--the book starts out with discovery of a bug in the Mayor's office during a recent election |
