Ike was quite a musician. Too bad he was also a batterer and drug abuser. What's Love Got To Do With It the movie will be his legacy.
Wonder if Tina T has made a public statement? They did have kids together. |

So true. The man was an innovator and a very creative original artist. As you have stated, it's unfortunate that his musical legacy and contribution to American music is over shadowed by his abusive relationship with Tina Turner. I've found most people are clueless to his contribution and development of contemporary music. They only remember the ass whippings he freely gave Tina.

From what I'm hearing on the news, in death, Ike does seem to be getting his props as a trail blazing and influential musician. According to her representative, Tina had no comment to make on his death. |

i am laughing not that he has died but because i can't think of ike turner without thinking of them making fun of him on in living color. i just can't get that picture out of my mind when he snorted the white cat out of my head.

(If not for him she'd still be here in St. Louis--probably retired from Church's chicken or something--
No excuse for him whipping her butt--but you gotta wonder why she stayed with it 30 opr 40 years--and additionally why she moved into the house with him and his wife--oh, did she forget to tell us about that?
I give Tina credit for realizing they were no longer teenagers and straightening up

Yea, right. I guess you promised Ike you wouldn't repeat anything that happened when you were hangin out with him. So were you invited to his funeral? BTW, next time you talk to Tina, tell her to call me. My number hasn't changed.  |
