...but check this out. I guess this should serve as a cautionary tale for all you authors out there.
MEXICO CITY - An aspiring horror novelist was arrested after police discovered his girlfriend's torso in his closet, a leg in the refrigerator and bones in a cereal box, the city prosecutor's spokesman said Thursday, and police suspect he may have been responsible for two other mutilation murders as well.

It is also a cautionary tale for the girlfriends of horror writers. Ladies, if your boyfriend has a polished set of knives sitting on his kitchen counter, never spend the night.
Of course the boyfriends of such authors don't have to worry, because women don't have the stomach for dismembering people.(Unless they're like Lizzie Borden, who "took an axe and give her father 40 wacks, and when she saw what she had done, she gave her mother forty one.") EU.
