HELLO TONYA!!!!!!  It was so nice to see you at the event and Kola was flabbergasted that you even came. Her only comment was--your "rear end" looks a lot plumper than you told people. LOL!!! But she thought you were so beautiful and so kind to bring her the audio Malcolm X collection and the "Philadelphia Freedom" t-shirt. She is still trying to get herself to Philadelphia University for a reading. JMHO, Derrick Bell and his wife were at Kola's reading on Sunday night. Kola returned to California the same night as the reading. On Tuesday, Derrick Bell lectured at USC in Los Angeles, which you can check quite easily. Also on Tuesday, Al Sharpton's office telephoned Kola and instructed her to get her butt over to JENA LA. Derrick Bell and Kola had lunch on Wednesday. From that lunch meeting, Kola telephoned Howard Dodson, a good friend of Dr. Bell's. Kola left last night for JENA and is there right now. She'll be home on Friday. Perhaps you'd be even more breathless if you heard the traveling schedules of people like Troy Johnson and Zane. | ||

P.S. An antedote: When Tonya came up to Kola at the reading and said, "Hi I'm Tonya from Philadelphia", Kola immediately screamed and grabbed the poor girl bursting into tears! The look on Tonya's face was so hilarious. Tonya has these huge pretty eyes and her eyes started jumping around as if to say "Am I going to be alright?" Then she started crying too! LOL! It was so incredibly touching that I wanted to cry but I laughed. Tonya thank you for being calm, because you looked kind of embarrassed when Kola kept kissing you on the cheek and I know you couldn't make out what she was saying through all the crying. Kola calls it a "Color Purple" moment. She was just so happy to see you, she couldn't believe you came all that way to see her. I also have to correct myself. It was the Nina Simone Box Set you gave her, someone else gave her the Malcolm X collection, but she hasn't stopped talking about the fact that "her sister" came to see her and you know how much she loves Nina Simone. Everyone here should be aware that Tonya has been slightly "modest" describing her looks, because she is an exceptionally pretty young woman. She is dark like she said, but has a very slim curvy figure, huge eyes and thick, long bushy hair. She was one of the prettiest girls there that night. | ||
