Oftentimes, when a guy thinks he might be teh ghey, but he’s not quite ready to take that leap out of the closet, he’ll do things like wearing women’s clothes in order to appear "ironic," and kissing other guys on a dare...
...So far this year we’ve seen plenty of examples of things that could be viewed as teh ghey, but we’ve yet to see an example of two guys actually fvcking one another in the ass, at least not on tape. For example, there was Pastor Ma$e cruising for tranny hookers; Lil’ Wayne and Baby kissing one another on the mouth; Kanye West showing up to the Grammys dressed like a teh ghey male "hustler;" Beanie Sigel trying to shove his tongue down Peedi Crakk’s ear. And the list goes on and on...
...my theory is that the hip-hop community has gotten a lot more teh ghey over the years, and right now we’re just at that point where you’ve got a lot of closet cases testing the waters, doing things that are obviously teh ghey, just to see how much of an outrage it’ll provoke. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we’ve got rappers stroking it in front of cops in front of public restrooms, dying of AIDS, and having sleepovers with eight year-old cripples and cancer patients...

I guess it could make you gay if you want a record deal (or some other position in the industry) and some producer (or some other industry executive) insists that you toss his salad (or some other disgusting sexual act) and you go for it. Other than that, you're either gay or you're not. |

I don't think people "become" gay. I happen to be among those who think people are born that way. Show biz tends to attract creative types who are open to experimentation. Exploring their sexuality by engaging in homosexual acts is a natural progression for them along with drugs, booze, and wanton heterosexual behavior. |

They have to be born that way.
Who would choose to be gay after finding out how almost all societies feel about them.
A lot of the homophobia I think is due to the fact that society fears that non gay members of the society will be attracted to the gay lifestyle--the problem they have with it is that homosexual activity does not produce children (ie replacements, reinforcements) which societies crave.
Look at Mzuri. She is still in denial that Prince is gay. Of course she does give flowers to women--

I watched on CSPAN yesterday the Clara Jeffery co-editor of Mother Jones magazine referenced to an article titled Gay By Choice by Gary Greenberg scheduled to be published in the upcoming September 2007 issue of Mother Jones.
In the article, Greenberg, a psychologist argues there is sufficient science and study that asserts there is indeed some element of choice regarding sexuality and that external factors can tip the scales towards one being gay or bisexual.
Greenberg argues (to the delight of MANY straight men) that women are inherently MORE sexually ambivalent than men.
Jeffery thinks Greenberg's article and the science that supports it may cause a seismic shift in the gay rights debate. The argument gays have made that they're gay by nature and not by choice will be substantially weaken. |

There's always been a school of thought that males with recessive homosexual tendencies were vulnerable to becoming gay if they had an absentee father or a dysfunctional relationship with the dad they had. Maybe that's why all these fatherless black men are on the "down low", but insist they are straight. And so many women are turned on by cuddling and caressing and tender displays of affection that it's not surprising they turn to other women to get what they don't receive from the men they interact with. |

Ummmm......A_womon, I don't think men being gay or living the down low lifestyle is a chosen fad ( like hair styles or clothing) based on being hip. I'm not homophobic, but hard legs, mustaches and hairy butts is a turn off to me. I can't see it. But I think this behavior is becoming more open because of contemporary shifting social mores and the emergence of a very powerful PC culture. There is a very large and open gay culture here in San Diego. But their open and brazen behavior would not be as openly tolerated in Tennessee, Virginia or Kentucky.

There is a very large and open gay culture here in San Diego. But their open and brazen behavior would not be as openly tolerated in Tennessee, Virginia or Kentucky.
I don't know about that NT. I think that large and open gay culture is spreading all over the country. I saw a "good ol' boy" on JERRY SPRINGER (yeah I GLANCE at it sometime HA!) anyhow He was talking about how he goes both ways.
I think it depends on what the demographic is when you speak about whether or not it's a hip new fad. Dudes coming out of jail think it's cool to say they "hit it hard" when they was on lock. It's just not considered taboo as it once was and people keep blurring the lines between what makes a person gay or straight and coming up with new definitions, like dl qt etc. just like back in the day, a bi sexual was something new. |

I think there are some people that are gay and have always known they are gay. Some are comfortable with their sexuality and some are not. For those who are not comfortable, our current culture promotes bisexuality as being cool - and allows certain individuals who don't want their true sexuality identity to be revealed, to explore their truest nature without a label they consider negative. And then there are individuals who are truly bisexual, totally comfortable with their sexuality and milk this current culture for all the encounters they can.
I think the men mentioned in the article have a higher chance of being truly gay than being bisexual, but they hide under the "meterosexual" label, and surround themselves with beautiful females, because they fear the backlash from their community.
