With all that's going on here--a 12 yr old black boy stabs a 13 year old neighbor to death, the school board mess, a white guy buying up the Northside to make a killing, an all white class at the police academy the top local news radio story was
A man is jailed for beating his dog (the dog is not dead)

You must perform practical magical and do what the human brain allows, chrishayhden, which is to retreat into the sanctuary of your mind and use your imagination to contruct your own environment. You cannot escape the corrupt, callous, unjust, stupid world but - you can transcend it as you bask in the company of yourself, immersed in the luxury of solitude and fantasy. Once refreshed, returning to the territory of your tangible surroundings will just be an "inconvenient truth".
