I love ABM and I hate it when he
is mad at me or being "cool" towards
me.
For the sake of not fighting over the "Interracial Couple" explosion
...can we acknowledge that the situation
is still mostly a "regional" one and
that many of our "clashes" are based on
where we live?
I just got off the phone with a friend
back east.
She doesn't know what the hell I'm talking
about.
Every couple she sees is 'black'. Her block
in the suburbs is populated by nothing but
black men and black women.
She grants there's 2 black men married to white women (a lawyer and the City Councilman) and four black "thugs" who have white or non-black GFs.
One of her nephews has a baby by a Korean girl,
but he married a black girl and they have
the baby.
She can't even imagine what I describe of
Oakland, California---once the Black Power
capital of the nation.
She says she's heard rumors...but she's
scared to even picture it.
She squeals "you're lying" when I tell her
what it's like for a black woman to drive
through San Diego, Los Angeles, the towns
along the way to Las Vegas.
She HAS HEARD about Seattle--where 81% of
Black men are married to White women. The
largest in the nation.
But she hasn't heard about Minneapolis or
Phoenix.
(*I first heard about Minneaoplis from
Yvette, btw.)
LASTLY...when I went on tour to D.C.,
I was jarred by the sight of "overwhelmingly"
paired BLACK couples.
To my stunned surprise, a good number even included "dark skinned" black women.
In Memphis...I saw ONLY black couples, and
more than half were "brown on brown". I
also saw very West African-looking Black
American couples who had been married 50
and 60 years!!!!
In Philadelphia, I saw sizeable "IR" (black men
w/white women), but it was still MOSTLY black
couples.
Now I live in a Valley.
It's predominately Latino and White here.
The latinos are mostly sharecroppers and the
Whites are rich people.
Blacks are only about 4% of the population out
here...and in Los Angeles, they are 6%.
In both L.A. and my valley....all I see are
Black Men coupled with Non-Black women.
I do not EVER see a black couple unless it's
African Immigrants or on those very rare
occasions that I go to Inglewood or Baldwin
Hills or "Mississippi Soul Food". Then I
see "older" black couples (35 and up).
My children's father (Simon Thomas), thank God,
is with a black Jamaican woman (who I respect
very much, though...I'm VERY jealous of her).
But then, that's why I settled down with him
in the first place--because he was Belizian and
very much in love with his "seed" (a Garifuna)
and very devoted to black women. God bless
him, because if it were not for HIS CO-SIGN,
my sons would not be turning out the way that
they are...which is very black-identified.
Incidentally---we do not and would never tell
our children "NOT TO" marry or do or be something.
The moment you do that...the moment they become
intrigued and fascinated subconciously with
doing it.
Their father has simply raised them FROM BIRTH
that for a true black man--the earth has only one
Queen--and that is how he acts (in the mall, pointing out beautiful black girls to my sons), flipping through magazines or whatever--his
"father's finger" ALWAYS "affirms" the Black
female...as the superior choice.
So that is what I set up IN MY HOUSE.
For my tree.
But outside my house...is the INTERRACIAL MECCA
of Southern California.
A virtual wasteland for black women.
AGAIN...we're on "Regionalism" and I'm
coming to a point with all this.
When you ADD the "media saturation of BM paired
with Non-black women"....and then you live in
Southern California areas that I do....how
do you NOT become alarmed?
The "next" generation of blacks here--the TEEN
MALES...
...I would say 90% of the MALE TEENS that I see are with (or chasing) Non-black women.
They are the first generation of black males
that I have ever seen who will twist up their
face in disgust at the mention of the name
"Malcolm X" or the word "race".
It's so bad out here...that in the supermarket,
Black men fear to make eye contact with black
women as we go down the aisles. They only
acknowledge, converse with and engage "WHITE"
people in the store----I notice these "black boys"
do not speak to black customers, male or female,
who come into the stores.
They have a "new culture" that is based on
and dependent upon them being SPONSORED by both
white mates and white friends.
Black TEEN Girls out here---are totally by
themselves and segregated from everyone.
Everywhere I go. I see masses.
And the real shocker...is that California
"black girls" are "on average" prettier than
the black girls in the rest of the country.
I don't know a single BF out here who has a
significant weight problem...the women here
are SLENDER, half are Yellow, a great deal of
them have the "BET" look....but they are BLACK
girls.
They don't go anywhere that typically you see
the black boys carousing the white girl rejects.
Black women out here have stop going to clubs
(UNLESS IT'S IN THE HEART OF L.A., and even there
I see the same BM preference for anything BUT a
black woman).
Black women don't go to clubs, they don't go to
the mall--they aren't at the swim meets--they
aren't out where they can be seen.
They are wilting and being suffocated by their
blackness.
Many times, I have been faced in discussion
groups with the fact that many of the black girls
PSYCHE themselves up that they are lesbian--so
that they can have "love" relationships with
each other, if no one else.
I'm not talking about TRUE lesbians...I'm talking
about the Black Girl DOWNLOW that is so prevalent
in California---and yet so unacknowledged.
And then worst of all--are the proud young
straight teen girls who have my attitude.
...fu/ck black men
The world is full of men!
These are the girls who end up being EXPLOITED by Mexican "Pappis".
LATINOS are 60% of the Population here
---and "Fly Black Girls" are a type of status
symbol for handsome, swarthy Border-Jumpers
trying to get a foothold in the U.S.
In fact...
...these fine, sexy, very "equipped" Latino stallions have made it a "sport" now in Southern Calif. to chase "negritas" after sundown.
But you don't see much romantic dating and marriages.
You see Latino men taking advantage of "un-wanted"
Black beauties---the mothers of our race---who
have nothing else to look forward to, and succumb
to these men out of desperation just to be noticed as "women".
Of course, there is a large number of "black men" as well (many of them married to White Women) who
exploit and use "HOs" (what black men out here call black women--"Hos") for their sexual needs, but will not be seen with a black woman--not even their own mothers--when it's time to present their status in public.
The recent dating of KIM KARDASHIAN by Reggie Bush is a prime example of Black men's blatant
"idealizing" of Non-black woman...as Kardashian,
a woman who has slept with dozens of black men
and is a KNOWN WHORE...is never called a "HO",
but is now publicized by black men as some kind
of "respected conquest"---"so beautiful with the perfect ass" they will tell you.
Totally disrespecting black women with songs
like "Golddigger" and names like "HO" while they
ascend real true golddiggers and HOs onto pedestals for no other reason than lacking
"black skin".
Tons of black women who are far more beautiful
and endowed than Kim Kardashian could ever be--not to mention more chaste--
...go literally unspoken of.
Men like ABM never seem to estimate how seriously
and deeply this bias seeps into black women's
consciousness (as it should). How it dismembers
their pride and is an affront to them as human beings--because their own reflection has "disallowed" theirs.
That is never considered, because to the typical
black male mind--black women are mainly another
"annex" of the black man's identity...a type of
"property" that is there but not necessarily
appraised of its own virtues.
A latino woman with a "fake plastic rump" can be plucked out of obscurity and stamped on the cover of "BLACK MEN MAGAZINE" as the "Sexiest Woman Alive"....and yet black men are so hopelessly...
...insensitive...
that they won't consider what this does to the
Psyche of little black girls.
Not to mention all black women...who are innundated with BET images that wholly "disallow" images of Black women and Black female beauty.
Even BEYONCE...is made in the image of Shakira
and Ann Margaret and anything but a black woman
---but for her ass.
Black men, in their selfishness (and really
their stupidity)...expect Black women to CONSUME these "attackful" images and feel nothing at all about it.
To be invisible...and be content with that.
Something he could never accept for himself, but
something that is fine for us...as long as he
doesn't have to be with us.
AFTER ALL THAT "dehumanizing" and "casual hate" for "The black woman"...people have the goddamn
nerve to ask: "Why do black women hate black men?"
The real question should be: "Why shouldn't they?"
I have silenced myself, personally, through hundreds of humiliating moments (black boys spitting in me and my sister's hair--the same hair that grows on black boys)....only to be
told by BLACK MALE LEADERS...that "the White
Man is the devil."
BULLLLLLLL---fucking---SHITT!!!!
Then you have the constant interjection of
my love ABM---"it's the black mothers who raise
their sons to be this way".
But I know from personal experience...that any
time I tell my sons that black women are
"beautiful"....there are 10 Black Men on the
street corner who will argue with a resounding,
"BULLSHIIT!"
I know that black children ignore their
mothers and LOOK TO THE IMAGES set forth by
absent black fathers....images that DO NOT "back up" a Black woman's claim that black is beautiful.
Anything a black woman teaches a child...must
be affirmed by the environment AROUND HER AND THAT CHILD.
Regardless of how black women try to instill a
belief in black beauty in black children...the
IMAGES that BLACK MEN create in this society
shoot it all down.

The true tangible fact...is that BLACK MEN have
always FOUGHT hard for "the black man's" revolution and they have always affirmed "the black man's needs"----they have ALSO ALWAYS
denigrated the "image" of the black woman and
risen the image of the Mulatto as their "imitation" stand-in for the White Man's Mother.
Now in 2007...that mulatto, fine as Salli Richardson may be, no longer trumps Kim Kardashian, Koko the Blond Fake Ass or
the White Man's Mother, period.
SO....
It is said, "California" is the place in the U.S.
where all trends begin.
The "gay" explosion happened here first--San Francisco being the first MAJORITY gay city in the country, closely followed by West Hollywood
--and from that---it has spread nationwide.
In California, the "IR" coupling of BM with
non-black women is not just "large"...but it is
overwhelming. The CENSUS reported that for the
first time in ANY STATE'S history---INCLUDING
LOUISIANA---more "biracial" babies were born
than Black Babies.
On top of that, California biracial children are
raised in "IR" White Women-ran communitie where
they are taught that they are "not black" (the
one thing, as an African woman, I'm very glad
about).
Black fathers, I notice, put very little into
the raising of their Mixed Children, and the
children grow to see the father as a kind of
"Frog" that their mother married.
These children grimace at the sight of black
people acknowledging them on the street.
Many of these Mixed children keep their heads
shaved (the boys), so as not to be so readily
identified as black.
A great deal of them pretend to be "Latino",
"East Indian" or "Arab".
And of course, California is the home of the
"Mixie Movement"---so a very large number of
them (whom I support)...refuse to be classified
as anything but "multi-racial" and have a
strong disdain for the one drop rule.
I long given up on trying to get Black American
people to "try" and identify with how this
looks to an African person who LOVES their
blackness and their race. I have come to
accept that your "breeding" over 400 years in
this country...makes it IMPOSSIBLE for you to
understand anything about an African woman who
KNOWS the philosophy of African forefathers
---"how to make generations".
Everything of ours...shattered and disgraced.
Out of pure swine ignorance, a Black American
will stand up and say, "Oh, but that child is
still black. I don't care how white it look."
And they just don't get it. They can't.
This is why I rolled my eyes at the news of
Spike Lee making a new film about "The Buffalo
Soldiers" (in Italy).
All I could think was----"For what?"
It's that same annoyance I feel whenever I hear
Black American men talk about "The Moors" or
Troy Johnson that time with the Great Black War
General in the Carribean who did this and that
(or was it Mexico?)...and yet....there's nothing,
NADA, left of him or his people.
They wander like heathens in a shadowy netherworld, totally scattered and uncohesive,
and yet we're supposed to be "PROUD"? Proud of
what?
The #1 law of nature is this----
"God made man in his own image".
A King sires an heir, a son in the image of
the King.
One of the African man's greatest sayings:
"Through our children...we live forever."
RISING THAT CHILD TO THE MOON.
Every culture of man respects that law but
the Ni66er. Only the Ni66er becomes a MOOR.
Extinct.
Watered down.
Scattered.
Disconnected.
ASH WHITE BARELY BROWN MOFO.
OWNED--a new way.
Everything Marcus Garvey said was right.
BUT...I live in California.
Perhaps if I lived in Chicago, in a titty-flops
acre of ABM, then I would be ranting about
something else....like why doesn't he convince
his wife to make me a "co-wife" and install me
and my sons into the back guest house where
we can all be one big happy KINGDOM. 
My thing is...I don't enjoy discussing this
issue because it brings a wedge between me
and ABM, because I am honest with my feelings
to him...and to him...it appears that I
loathe and hate black men..rather than I am
expressing my personal experience as a female
human being...at the mercy of black men.
I become resentful, because my "humanity" is
not considered, only my "woman's place" as
the rib from a black man.
No matter what humiliation and betrayal I feel...to speak of my own selfish needs is somehow an affront to black men's right to
be men and have "personal choices"...
The very men who claim to LOVE or respect me cannot fathom why I would say...
"fu/ck black men".
And yet I am always BAFFLED as to why
they don't expect.
When will I...the brown girl with a
mutilated vagina (4 black men) and
PRIZED little black sons (4 black men)
and a broken heart that continues to
beat...
for black men...
...when will I be celebrated and put on
a pedestal?
Is that so hard to understand?
Though ABM wants to see me (and
all black women) on that pedestal...
the fact is...his boys ain't for it.
So why do I have to pretend that all
the black men on earth are like him
and blindly react accordingly, when
...they are nothing like him!
Why am I expected to do all the
giving and all the work?
It's IMPOSSIBLE being a black woman!
I AM EXHAUSTED!
Black men and Black women---we have lost
"trust".
And once you lose that in any kind of
relationship...

I've never been to California before, because I really don't want to go there, I've always hated it for some reaon......
BUT...my sister lives there and she's really happy that she lives in a town where she says she hasn't seen any black people, so all of the white/hispanic people who live there thinks she's "mixed" because she's light skinned and they haven't seen enough black people (light or otherwise) in person to know the difference.
That's quite sad. |

ABM, I just want you to not be
angry at me for expressing myself
with total honesty on these
IR subjects.
And I want you to realize that
I don't HATE black men....
...I LOVE them.
That's why I analyze them so intricately,
because I love them.
But I have PAIN, too, and much of it
comes because I am African and I know
too much.
I am only human. I have anger and rage.
And I feel it's justified.
It doesn't mean that I would not die for
you or my sons or my father or Simon or
Derrick Bell or Chinweizu.
I would.
But I hurt.

Another thing I noticed is that alot of older White/Latino men are taking advantage of these "unwanted" Black girls and are exploiting them for sex. I was on Craigslist and I happened to notice that alot of these White/Latino men want to "exploit" these young women.
Also, if you go to any large "Black" event you will notice that there is an abundance White/Latino men "preying" on these single women. While all the eligible Black men are with non-Black women. HELL!! IF I WAS A WHITE/LATINO MAN I WOULD HAVE MY FUN TOO!! A BUNCH OF SINGLE WOMEN OF ANY RACE WHO SEEM TO BE IGNORED BY THERE OWN MEN!! I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN.
The dating situation out here is hopeless for for young Black girls!! |

ITS CRAZY OUT HERE!! I went to a Jill Scott concert at UCLA 2 mos. ago. AND MY EYES ALMOST FELL OUT OF MY HEAD!!I couldn't believe how many single Black women there were out here. Not to mention the all the White/Latino men out here looking to get "laid". And its not real love because alot of these men are "MARRIED". Or they wouldn't dare bring a Black woman around there friends and family!! Also, like Kola said I don't know a single Black girl out here with a weight problem. BOTH OF MY SISTER ARE STUNNINGLY GEORGEOUS!! As well as most of the Black girls out here. |

Aight. Here goes...
I don't mind discussing this issue. And I don't think we disagree as much as it often seem.
I DO believe many Black men have an unhealthy admiration, if not obsession, with White and other non-Black women. And I believe that wounds Black women.
And I’d agree the media and entertainment section often appear to be particularly interested in celebrating Black men being coupled with non-Black women.
But I also think too often you and other sista castigate Black men WITHOUT acknowledging that you yourselves - as our mothers, sisters and wives/lovers - contribute to the issue (e.g., all the straightening, perming and hair extensioning artificially inflates the perceived value of non-Black beauty).
And, yes this is largely a regional issue.
Because I promise that MOST of the married Black men I see, know and respect have BLACK wives. In fact, most of their wives are very brown and black in color and features.
I admire the beauty of ALL manner of human females. And have partaken of such. *wink*
But, Honestly, I don't think I've EVER been obsessively enamored with non-Black and lightskinned women (no offense to the liteskindeded Thumpettes out there) JUST because they were lighter.
I've ALWAYS wanted Black women. And I KNOW I'm not unique in that regard.
The whole L.A. scene always has been, is and always will be weird, racially et. al. There's just too much fantasy wannabeeing, sun, sea air/water and smog for a brotha to think straight other there.
L.A. will ALWAYS be much more the rule than it is the exception.
All the Black fatherlessness is contributing the lack of Black men being sensitive to what you describe. Because if you’re not raising and loving your OWN Black daughters, you sure as hell ain’t going to give much of a dayam about anyone else’s.
Why hasn’t there been a mass exodus of Black women from out of the West Coast?

It’s interesting you say that. One of my wife’s favorite shows is HBO’s Big Love. I think she get’s off on the notion of my having a 2nd (or 3rd) wife for her to boss around. |

I have an Aunt that lives in California and she says both black men and women date outside their race. The black women are not dateless or single out there, according to her. |

Why hasn’t there been a mass exodus of Black women from out of the West Coast?
There actually has been, ABM, and it's been
much written about.
This is one of the few places where black
men and black females are about "even" in
Population, though I see MALES a helluva
lot more.
Educated Black women have left here in
droves for Atlanta, Phoenix, Houston,
Jackson, Ms. and other places--mostly in
the South.
In fact...I am trying to amass enough
financial security to move the boys and I
(as I told you 3 years ago) to a farm in
the south...but since I want it to be my
"grow old" spot, it has to be very carefully
planned out.
And neither of my boys is 10 yet, so I
don't feel as pressured, but I'm getting
us out of here.
Another twist...
In the last 5 to 7 years...I have also
noticed a sizeable group of Black women
who LIKE the dating scene out here, because
they have adapted their black older brother's
mantras.
These girls are ALWAYS under 25 and they
talk like "valley girls".
They love Seattle and L.A. because black men don't harass them (not generally anyway) as they go about dating all the Non-black men they can scout.
Unfortunately, this "type" of woman is very
"raceless" and I haven't been able to finish
a whole conversation with one. They're like
"pod" imitation white women with black skin.
THEIR GOD...is the White or Latino or Asian
man.
Their older brothers...are ALWAYS married out as
well.
They're a new breed of "sistas" that do not
want to be called "sistas".
Of course, they don't have the range of
CHOICES that black men do...so they are
often "exploited", but they would rather
have that than be with their silent enemy
--their black male twin.
They do find some "stable" white men to
marry, though. Usually from outside
California and fat, old and balding.
But hey...it's a husband.

Well, Serena and I have BOTH told you what we
see--and from all different points of views.
Does she live in the Ghettos of L.A.?
Those have become "ghost towns", but if that's
where she lives, maybe it's more even there.
However....
A lot of Black Women, I notice--especially older OLD SCHOOL black women---are embarrased
about the situation out here...
so to save face, they try to CLAIM what your Aunt is claiming.
But internet boards nationwide wouldn't be
lit up with this issue if things were "EVEN"
as she claims.
A lot of "PROUD" black women
pretend that they have the same CHOICES that
black men do....but across the board, they
do not.
Black women are NOT a status commodity to
ANY MEN because their wombs produce black
men.
We do not have the same status as black males.
And a lot of it is because BW spent the
last 200 years fighting the Black Man's
Revolution...his liberation....but haven't
fought for their own IMAGE/worth/Humanity to
be accepted and acknowledged.
It's like we black women are the 'niggers'
now and he's "IN" with the establishment.

My aunt is an older woman (in her 50s) so it's possible that she just isn't that aware of what's really out there. That's typical of older ppl. Although, her son (my cousin) is with a Mexican girl and they have a daughter (not surprising at all).

You are right however most of the Black men out here refuse to be seen with Black women in public. Even with the ones in there families. It is a real ODD culture that they created out here.
However, there is alot of Black women dating non-Black men however not as many as Black men and like you said they do run the risk of being "exploited".
Also, like I said before there is an overabundance of OLDER White/Latino men and alot of younger ones too. Many of them married!! That are "preying" on these vulnerable women!! Which is why I am beginning to see alot of these Black girls more and more with mixed kids. And many of them are in the same situation as there were in with a Black man still "ALONE".
These women are "unloved" and "unwanted". And many non-Black men see that. Alot of these women turn to "PORN". Believe it or not. At least 3 girls that I went to school with have done this.
Alot of these "rich" Black men out here marry these "Paisa" Latina women or immigrant Asian women. Many of these women are already married in there native countries, and speak very little English. And these Black men "parade" these women around like "trophies" because they aren't accustom to America's racism and hold no grudges against Black men.

Case in point: A good friend of mine in High School was working with this White guy who took her to a party, slipped something into her drink, then took her to his house in RACIST-ASS Sunland,Ca. I mean this place is sooo racist that the KKK is still known to have a strong "foothold" in this community. However, he Raped her and when she tried to file charges she was accused of "lying". And she ended up being put in jail. Now she is mother of a 5 year old bi-racial daughter.
Also, Kola I don't know if you heard the story of that White/Jewish guy who was going into Inglewood, Compton etc. kidnapping, raping, and murder little Black girls and leaving there bodies in "underpasses".
