One reason why Joe Lieberman won in Connecticut is because Jews of both parties jumped ship and voted for him.
Will they do the same thing if Bloomberg runs? Doesn't the fact that he will probably spend over 2 billion dollars on the race give him a good shot at winning? |

Typical backwards ghetto mentality. Thirty years of disturbing the neighborhood doesn't mean they have the right to continue this practice. They don't have a permit to perform and the neighbors are entitled to peace and quiet during the nighttime hours.
(Several in the know political observers, including the man he defeated in the race for Mayor by spending him under the table. Which does not include apparently, anyone in Mayberry, who cannot conceive of two billion.

Mr. Bloomberg spent $84 million in 2005 to win re-election as mayor. In 2008, a wealthy candidate could spend five times that (or 10 times, as some Bloomberg associates suggest he might do) to run for president. Under this hypothetical scenario, the money would support a targeted advertising campaign to sell an Electoral College strategy to voters. (You wouldn’t even need to get on the ballot throughout the country.)

Do you see Bloomberg's name on Forbes list as having 16 billion dollars? He's actuallty 63 on this list with a fortune estimated at 5.1 billions. Hypothetical, indeed. Get more specific with your NY Times reference.

Cynique, Bloomberg has and would be willing to spend 2 billion bucks in a presidential campaign (were he to run).
I would like to see Bloomberg, someone who is beholden to no one, in the office. This is one of his biggest strengths.
I also believe Bloomberg is motivated to do a good job and improve things. He seems to be driven my results not what other people think of him.
I would like to see Bloomberg enter the race.

Why would it take 2 billion bucks for Bloomberg to win?? Couldn't he impress voters with his platform and personality as oppposed to buying the office?? It's been reported that when voters don't have a stake in a candidate, when he doesn't seek and receive campaign contributions from them, then they feel alienated because they are not a part of the process. Bloomberg also wouldn't have to answer to anybody since with that kind of money he wouldn't have to woo anybody, so he would in effect be like a dictator, a benign one, albeit. |

Bloomberg could probably work wonders for the economy. Plus he'd have us all riding
around in hybrids  I'd seriously consider voting for him instead of my current favorite.

Bloomberg would probably piss people off as he made the tough decisions required to get the nation to be more fiscally responsible.
I would vote for Bloomy this go around and vote for Obama in the next election.

(Were you asleep in 2000 when George Bush came from nowhere to almost sweeping it up with 200 million dollars--he bought enough votes to put him in a spitting distance then had his Brother's people in Florida destroy and throw out the rest then had the Supreme Court put him in there.
It is not about that crap you got taught in high school civics. I have been noticing more and more that everybody is following the money. |

I'm not too confident what it is replaced with would be any better...
Honestly I don't really have to much faith in the entire electoral process. But I will probably end up voting for Obama...
If Bloomberg ran I'd seriously think about voting for him. My only aversion is he seems to be a very egotistical cat and somewhat arrogant. Sort of like one of those dudes that believes the one with the most money is the brightest and should rule. Which is why I did not vote for him for mayor...
However he seems to have made a positive impact on the city. But the city is doing so well ecconomically so not that impressed.
