I watched the special and it was alright but I’m tired as a motherfucker of the entire Black community being defined through the ups and downs of The Black Man and HIS experience, as if The Black Woman and all the trauma she’s been forced to conceal for 500 long cruel harsh torturous heartless and remorseless years don’t mean DIDDLYSQUAT. I think that’s a bunch of bullllllshit. But there were some interesting moments in this production, including one that irked me somewhat, so I’ma put some things aside for now and I’ll digress as they say.

By not challenging some of this misinformation, Sharpton, Jackson and Dyson did in fact drop the ball as "gatekeepers", as was said. But the misinformation has been spreading much faster and more profusely due to the participation of OTHERS within their ranks like Cosby and Oprah and Barack Obama and ect. It's bothersome that these guys are targeted whenever it's time to blame the sell-outs within in the Black middle class, esp. when there are those flk among them who not only refuse to speak against the propaganda or try to DISPEL some of the lies and innuendos, they support the propaganda, preached the lies, and in some cases GET PAID for the innuendo. Since Cosby, Oprah and others are far more powerful than they are, the reverends Sharpton and Jackson and Prof. E. Dyson are constantly being scapegoated, and that's a bunch of bullshit as well. |

My favorite part of the program involved the presentation of the all-boys school (I forget it's name/location) that included mentors of Black men.
Why?
Because it was really the only part of the program that talked about what appeared to be an actual, tangible SOLUTION to the problems. |
