That Hilary Clinton and Dennis Kucinich had to stand on boxes to match the height of the other candidates…tickles the hell out of me.
In Hilary’s case, (and to some extent Kucinich’s too), it called attention to the fact that size and gender don't matter...albeit in the most side-splitting way. LOL!!
And I’m LOVING it too! I LOVE that message. It’s one that’s sorely needed.
I’m also loving it because she’s a woman kick'n ASS in a crowd full of STRONG robust creatures.
Sigourney Weaver is second to Pam Grier for one "Alright Now!" reason: Ripley.
And my favorite super-hero--(yeah I gotta super-hero)--is WONDERWOMAN.
And so, no, I’m not a huge fan of where she stands on the issues, but if Hilary keeps conducting herself this way, I’m changing her name to Pamela Clinton SistaGirl Weaver--cut it smooth the f*ck off--Brown...Wonderwoman for short. |

Why don't they ever show that girl's FACE?
I'm not sure if it's conscious or unconscious racism but it's definitely an insult on the part of BLACK and WHITE men.
They use the same affront in the videos.
Notice the NON-mixed/white/Latina women are always asked to:
"Back that thing up"
And even when she's allowed to show her face, the emphasis is still always on her butt.
Now, I’m sure there’s a precedent for this started by some white man long ago, but, still, Sistas ought not see it as an excuse to let brothas get away with clowning Black women--like Buffy and those in music videos--this way.
Cuz when you see Buffy and others always posing "face down and ass up" what you think they're saying about her face and by extension YOUR face?
Buffy is an attractive version of Sistas I see from all walks of life in some cases she's far more acttractive.
If they're belittling her looks, think how they must feel about yours.
This is not a class issue here, it's not even about beauty..not at all, it's RACE. |
