I'll start out. I was in fifth sixth grade. Had to do a science project. I had waited until the last moment of course and hadn't done nothing. It was late at night. I was in the basement trying to saw a board for it. I had got a slab of masonite. Real hard to saw.

My dad was doing the Dad thang, letting me stew in my own juice. I don't hold it against him. It is a black father's duty to show a black male child how hard and pitiless this world is at every turn.

I was giving up, in tears.

Mom's are softer stuff, thank goodness. Mom came down and started sawing the board and shamed I got the gumption to finish it up.

I didn't get no top prize, but I finished.

That's the kind of Mom I had!

They still make them, but even then they were few and far between.

My Mom was nice to me. Some mornings she would ask me if I wanted to stay home from school today and just hang out at home and do stuff like lounge around and eat bonbons. These were just regular days when I wasn't even sick or had a test coming up. Great Moms should let their children play hookie from school every once in a while.

Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!!

My brother went to jail for a violent fight that he started. He called my mother to bail him out. My mother said "I'm not bailing you out. I didn't tell your dumb ass to go to jail."

Ask me if he went again.

Latina_wi: Chris you ahve a way with bringing those words LMAO!

My Mum's better side has come out a lot more as she has got older (or I got older so it seems). She has always been a beautiful and generous woman but it wasn't entirely evident when we were young because she worked so hard and was easily harrassed.

My Mum found it was easier to show love materially as sometimes she finds it hard conveying her emotions. She paid for me to have a private education and is giving me a holiday for my birthday.

But she is also very loving ( I am never too embarrassed to kiss my mum), she supports and encourages me. She is a brilliant role model too, she worked extremely hard at her success and I want to emulate all that she has achieved.
