THE BRIDGE: Top Ten Offensive Rappers

By Darryl James

May 1, 2007

Old Dumb Don Imus had no idea that he would end up being the poster child for the current exposed racist of the month. And he couldn’t have realized that he would be used as the long awaited and sorely needed impetus for Black women to turn against the rappers they had been excusing for far too long.

But, finally, there are a number of groups being formed by Black women, taking personal responsibility for forcing the rappers and the music industry to demonstrate more respect.

Now that sisters across the nation seem finally ready to put their foot down, perhaps Black men in huge numbers will stand with them and maybe, just maybe, this current movement against negative lyrics in rap music will last.

In case this is real, I’m slinging a target list that should be used for boycott lists and for passing out ass beatings in general.

In another Top Ten List, here’s my list of rappers who are currently the most offensive:

Top Ten List of Offensive Rappers

1. Snoop Doggy Dogg.
This male has slung more bitches and hoes than a little bit and while there are perhaps other rappers who have used the words more or more offensively, this idiot takes the top spot for trying to draw a line between the women he calls hoes in his songs and women he thinks are not hoes. Shut up, stupid!

2. Jay Z
It has always perplexed me that women love this punk so much. His lyrics are just mediocre and he has the nerve to refer to himself as Jehovah or Hov for short. Now if slapping that sister in Africa wasn’t enough to get women off this living cartoon’s jock, I just don’t get the world.

3. Three Six Mafia
These idiots have been making stupid music for years, and at some point could have made a change, since they were talking about how much control they have with their stupid independent label, but they just made it worse with a stupid song from a worthless movie, yelling “Whoop that trick!”

4. Too Short
After all these years, Short Dogg made sure to come back in 2006 and let folks know that he was the man who made “” a household name in rap music. Good job!

5. Fifty Cents
“I’m just into having sex, I ain’t into makin’ love,” this honest idiot once rhymed. Nice message, fella! And, really, seeing Vivica Fox with her formerly fine ass (pre-plastic surgery) clowning herself for this loser was the most perplexing of all.

6. Queen Latifah
I first started hating a few rappers when she made that beautiful song (“U.N.I.T.Y.”), exclaiming: “You gotta let ‘em know—you’re not a or a ho.” Then I started hating her when I realized she didn’t mean it and that it was just good game. I know she hasn’t really been rhyming in a while, but she still has the same ironic name, so she gets lumped in here for wanting to be called a ho at the Academy Awards by the morons at number 3. She once asked: “Who you callin’ a ?” Apparently you and apparently you like it. How do you feel?

7. Ying Yang Twins
While it may have been innovative to make a song whispering the lyrics, the real innovation would have been to make a song where the lyrics actually talked about something other than beating up a woman’s sexual organs. Perhaps Black women need to whisper in these fools’ ears that they are about to catch hell. And, let ‘em know that none of you are waiting to see their “Ohh!”

8. Lil Jon
Damn, it made me sad to see Black women run to the dance floor when this ridiculous looking dude started talking about the sweat running down his balls and how “all these bitches fall.” Who knew Jiminy Cricket was Black with dreads and gold fronts?

9. Trina
While she proclaims that she is the “Baddest ,” this sad lady is really the dumbest woman, clowning herself and her gender for a tiny little paycheck that she can’t take to the bank and retire from. She’ll have to be a whole lot more bitches before that money gets long.

10. Lil Kim
This freaky little rap star once made a song about how to properly perform oral sex. If that wasn’t enough, her biggest song features her in the background singing “F—k bitches, get money!” I’ve heard plenty of women claim that Lil Kim is a smart and powerful woman, but she hasn’t saved babies, run for office, discovered a cure for cancer, or hell, even controlled her own recording masters, so she shouldn’t be excused when excising the offensive content in rap music.

Now, there are ten prime targets for stamping out the ignorance that currently permeates rap music. I’m certain that any of you can add to the list, but hopefully, we’ll see these fools get targeted by the “Shut it down” machine.
The only thing better than that would be to aim that machine at any and everyone who offends the image and culture of African Americans, beginning with us first.

The familiar picture of Darryl James who wrote this article and several others that have been posted here, is an interesting one. There he is, his face a reflection of angst, his eyes full of despair as he appears to be on the verge of clutching his head, a pose befitting the lamentations he writes which are more like rants than reports. Such a vain, contrived image, - one that sends a subliminal message: "Everybody is misled but me. Why doesn't the world realize this"? Yawn.

I think he's just a wannabe "journalist" blogger who pulls rants out of his ass in order to have content. His ish doesn't even make sense.

And BTW, the fact that he's been "published" doesn't change what I stated above.

Nice post. I like what he had to say. I have no use for the X-Gen hip-hop coon culture or any of their pathetic apologists and excuse making enablers. Glad I'm not the only one who refuses to turn their head with indifference and cowardly apathy.

Off topic: I just bought the new Arrested Development, even though I hadn't heard a single cut on radio. I strongly recommend it. Is it getting any airplay where you all are?

” Shut your old crusty nappy headed ass up! “

Um….if you are referring to me, my hair is not nappy. Doesn’t mean anything but I just though I would correct your groundless imbecilic judgment of something you know nothing about. But since you brought hair up, how’s your Korean weave doing? Just curious….

”It's called freedom of speech and expression and people can produce and listen to any kind of music they choose.”

And you are absolutely correct! Just as I am free to make comments about something I feel has had a negative impact on a generation of impressionable young people without caustic chicken shit personal attacks by cowards like you. The “right” to do anything is not in question my dear. But the affects of what is being done by vulgar, violent and misogynistic music is an issue that is not being debated and evaluated by just me. You are aware of this are you not? Oops! I forgot. Of course not. If there is a child molestation and porn ring, crack factory or serial murderer living on the block, don’t say anything! Keep yo’ mouth shut! Don’t be snitchin to da white man!! Got it..??!!

”Everybody doesn't want to hear that lame tired boring shit you call yourself groovin' to.”

Like what? How I like to sell used furniture over the internet?

”Viagra!”

Hmmmmm….You’ve mentioned this a number of times before. Are you having problems with you sex life Mzuri? Sorry babe, but I’m not interested nor can I help you. And Viagra was made for males but there are vaginal lubricants that can help you for what you are unable to produce anymore. Just a suggestion…...

Your nappy headed ass responded, so the shoe must have fit. If you don't like the music, then don't listen to it. It really is as simple as that. Got it???

"Your nappy headed ass responded,......"

Yep! This is true. Heh! Heh! Heh! And again, although I don't have naps, there is nothing wrong with nappy hair. I love sista' locks and dreads on black women. Have you ever thought about growing them Mzuri? A weave isn't always the answer my dear. Just something for you to think about.....you know, the Koreans taking your money.

".....so the shoe must have fit. If you don't like the music, then don't listen to it. It really is as simple as that."

This is also true.....and I don't! But unlike you, I am concerned how young minds are impacted by negative imagery and messages. While here in Ohio, I'm seeing the worst of it! You know, like telling someone not to "snitch" when they know of a child being raped and murdered or a mass murderer living next door. Things like that.

Oh yeah, let me put a big a smile on your face. I was just reading the city newspaper today, where there was a quadruple murder (three men, one woman and all black) in a crack house. Negroes were clamoured around the house when the police arrived -but no one would talk to the police (face to face, e-mail or private hot line tip) -period! The police say they know there are numerous people who have details about the execution of these four young blacks but they refuse to cooperate. Hooooorrrraaaayyyy!!!! See, people are down wit de no snitchin' honor code like you Mzuri! And like you again, they have shown honor, integrity and a deep sense of race pride by not helping the evil white man catch the lethal criminals who murdered these people. It's a good thing -don't you agree?

WTF does any of that have to do with me? Why don't you mosey on over to the crackhouse and give those crackheads a piece of your mind. Again, simple as pie, don't you see? For every problem, there is a solution.
