I saw part of this guys videotaped statement.
He didn't look nut to me. Just pissed off.
I am not buying all the statements of regret from the Korean community. They knew this guy was a ticking time bomb.
Everybody is all the time talking about how the Black community is going to have to take responsibilty for this or that.
Obviously the boy couldn't stand all the crap white folks kept dishing out to him and he snapped. All you integrationists forget how cruel white kids can be to each other and outsiders.
What I want to know is, when are they going to step up and take responsibility for his violent rampage? |

This guy went to school in Washington, DC, - chocolate city. Are we sure that his tormenters were white? Black folks love to mimic and taunt Asian accents if we are going to get into finger pointing, which we shouldn't since millions of kids endure taunts and ridicule and rejection as a part of the growing up process. Only the mentally disturbed ones get a gun and go out and shoot up their school. |

The Washington Post reported that Cho displayed mental issues as a young child -- didn't want to be hugged, didn't respond when he was greeted, and would punch his sister violently. It was also reported that during Middle and High school, Cho isolated himself socially.
From what it sounds like, he had some form of autism. For those who have autism, how it manifests differs from person to person. However, fixating on certain things, the ability to mentally process information/directions but not the ability to articulate the same information/directions, strong violent and/or sexual urges, are all tell-tale signs of some form of autism.
My mother, who is an educator, and I were talking this morning about this very case. She shared with me that, with the experience she has had working with autistic children, she firmly believes he, on some level, was autistic. And often times, many parents are in denial regarding the severity of their childrens mental illness because they excel academically. In Cho's case, not only did he excel academically, but his obvious mental illness is considered shameful in the Korean culture. Therefore, though it's sad, it's understandable why he slipped, so to speak, through the cracks. It's unfortunate because from all the information that has been shared about his mental healthy history, it's possible he could have been helped -- and this tragedy could have possibly been prevented.

Thats actually an interesting question Chris. No I don't think that the Korean community will take responsibility for him. Thats because Koreans(and other non-Black groups) unlike Blacks have a certain amount of individuality that is afforded them.
Koreans can still be regarded as individuals unlike Blacks because they don't have a history of being de-humanized, brutilized, discrimated against, and negative media portrayals the way Black do!
So in essence the Korean community will "pick itself up", "dust itself off" and still receive it's blessings from the White community. |

Um….that’s not exactly true. Depends on where you are at. The Koreans are loathed and treated very badly in Japan. They are the “niggers” of Japan and treated as such. While most retain their last names, many have changed them to Japanese surnames to avoid discrimination. I recall an instance when a friend of mine was out one evening and got into a spat with a woman in a store. The woman called the police and claimed the brother picked some coins off the ground and hit her with them (this is a true story!!!). Now, of course this did not happen and it was a silly lie. The police did not believe her and dismissed the allegations. But she played the race card and starting wailing that she was being mistreated because she was Korean. Well, that put everything in a different light. She became extremely angry and was ready to push this incident (which did not happen –I was there!) as discrimination against her because of her nationality.
They talked to the brother and told him he had a choice –pay her a restitution of good faith and make it go away or face criminal assault charges for hitting her with some coins. They did not want to deal with a police discrimination case (dismissing her story because she was Korean). The brother was on active duty in the US Navy and he knew the consequences if this reached his command as an international incident. It wasn’t worth it. He paid her about $150 (I can’t exactly recall) and that was that. It was a no win situation for him and he knew it. The police did not actually believe her but they did not want to deal this screaming Korean woman and the blizzard of discrimination paper work she was about to bring on them so they took the path of least resistance. Bottom line: Koreans are discriminated against and looked upon as being less than human –it just depends on where you're at.

the answer to that statement " will the korean community accept responisbility for cho?" the answer is yes. should they? no.
the korean community is already afraid that they may feel a backlash because of what one nutt-case did. he acted on his own behalf, and if someone bases his acts on how the entire korean community carries themselves then they are racist.
as someone stated earlier, i don't think any of ya'll would accept responsibility for what the d.c. sniper did. white americans won't accept responsibilty for what ted bundy and all the rest of those lunatics (and theres a lot of them ) have done ... so the koreans should carry on just like everyone else. |

You're so out of it, that you don't even know that Serenasailor is a guy, chrishayden. So STFU. This post had nothing to do with white people, either, but you had to go into your "victims of the white folks" mode. The public schools in Washington DC are 99 per cent black. If you want to prove me wrong, what you need to do is find out what schools Cho went to. I'd be interested in finding out the truth, myself. You have heard of the "truth", haven't you?? |
