I heard on the radio today that Obama has raised more money on Wall Street that both Clinton and Guliani combined.
I'm still voting for him, but I growing a little concerned... |

Why does that concern you, Troy? He also gave back money that it was determined came from lobbyists, keeping true to his promise to not accept that kind of funding. As well, his campaign has raised more than others from small-time (I think defined as $100 or under) contributors--likelier to be first time contributors and non-high income income folks.

Troy,
I read that eventhough Clinton has (slightly) more campaign cash than Obama, Obama got his stash from TWICE the number of donors than did Clinton (Obama: est. 100,000 donors, Clinton: est. 50,000 donors).
And, like Yvettep said, Obama, unlike Clinton rejects money from lobbists.
So it seems to me that if you should be concerned about ANY of the presidential candidates being bought, it's YOUR Senator Clinton. |

I thought it was all small donors too
If it had been, we'd likely be hearing stories saying things like, "OK, so he can generate a grassroots campaign, but this proves he isn't savvy enough to get the major players involved..." |

NOBODY can get elected PRESIDENT without getting donations from rich foks.
NOBODY.
This is a CAPITALISTIC society. It's born, bred and bleeds MONEY.
So the best we can expect of any VIABLE presidential candidate is that he-she does NOT make promises to his-her wealthy donor that undermind most of the rest of us and that he-she DISCLOSES who those wealthy donors are so that we all will have the chance to keep an eye out for the possibility of problems and irregularities. |

And perhaps the real story is LESS about how and why much Obama's getting so much dough from Wall Street and MORE about how and why Clinton and Guliani are getting so much less from Wall Street.
Simply: Maybe Wall Street flatout thinks Clinton and Guliani CAN'T win. |

(I don't believe that. But no serous candidate for President can go foward without the backing of all parts of the ruling Complex--Wall Street being the financial component. |

Yvettep, it was a weak joke on my part. Just trying to contrast my overwhelming and irrational support for Obama despite the negative things said about him in the past by expressing concern with this very good news.
ABM, short of all other candidates dropping dead and no one else stepping up. I don't think few (even those actively involved in the Hillary campaign) believe Hillary has a chance. Likewise for Giuliani, though I would prefer Rudy over Hillary.
I agree about the Wall Street support...
In reality I'm not concerned but honestly I am astonished: This Brother has garnered more support on Wall Street than Rudy, a former NYC Mayor and Hillary a sitting NYS Senator combined -- astonishing!

Wow. So even you NYC'ers don't see either of your own foks winning, huh?
Obama looks like a WINNER. That doesn't mean he will win. But he definitely LOOKS the part. And when you look like a winner, foks who have money are more likely to bet money on you. |

Agree, ABM. Also, like I have said here before, he is already a "winner"--as are all of us-- because of the wonderful debates his potential candidacy has opened up and because of all the former passive (even non-) political participants who have become more involved. |

BO has not won anything yet. Can't celebrate a victory when we are still in the first inning. The question is can he sustain this enthusiasm and support until November 08??
And, will the white folks who say they will vote for him, do so when they are alone in the booth? |

ABM, that is why I was so surprised by the Wall Street support.
