The Rutgers basketball team should not meet with that snake Imus behind closed doors as they plan to do.
At least they should have their parents there and videotape the mess. He is going to try to pull a fast one (if nobody is there he can come out crying and talking about it was a lovefest and they want me to have my job back) |

I still deciding whether I agree they should meet with him at all. Because it seems to me that their agreeing to meet with him allows him to be excused for what happens and facilitates his being able to return to and recover what he's lost. |

I think these women deserve a personal apology from Imus. That should be his last act of contrition. He certainly doesn't have to apologize to Al and Jesse for giving them a platform to do what they exist to do. |

I agree Imus doesn't care about those young ladies. He's hoping to garner their good graces so that he can leverage such into salvaging his media career and business.
And THAT'S why I'm iffy on their meeting with them. The only reason I'm not flatly against that is I've not really thought through how they might benefit more from doing such than not. |

I agree. I have to be honest about this, like the Anna Nicole Smith demise, I’m growing very weary and bored with this Imus debacle. It’s time to move on. Was he wrong to say what he did? Yes? Was it an unnecessary ignorant racist remark? Yes. Should he apologize? Yes. End of subject.
Don Imus is a cracker shock jock who insults and derides everyone –not just black female basketball players. The man has a long history of saying racist comments and jokes. But as I said, he not only insults blacks, but everyone else. There are no sacred cows with this guy. That’s what he does. Again, there is nothing new or unusual about these comments from Imus. I know some blacks do not like to recognize this, but the language he used (like Michael Richardson, “n” word meltdown) is the same language and description Negroes use every single day to describe one another whether in endearment or in the heat of battle.
I seen it three separate times on the Maury Popvich show. During one particular ghetto style baby mama drama theatrics, a young black woman was screaming at the alleged father of her children because; “……. he got big lips and nappy hair just like his daddy! He know dat baby be his!” I’ve seen the same language used on that show another two separate times (one time a young Negro male proclaimed the child’s hair was too nappy to be his!). The audience just giggled and laughed in amusement. Done deal.
So there is nothing shocking about the language (I heard two hip-hop fashioned male Negroes use identical language –substitute the “b” word for the word “hoe”, to describe black women, when I was in Ohio on two separate occasions) and it shouldn’t be such a shock coming from someone who makes a living insulting everyone and saying outrageous derisive comments. And I do agree I really can’t get excited about Al and Jesse milking this silly incident for their own self promotion and attention. These two platinum card ambulance chasers never cease to amaze me.

STFU chrishayden, - you of floppy disk fame, calling somebody "old". Whether sincere or not, Imus owes these young women the courteous gesture of an apology. For him to ignore their hurt feelings would be a sign of even more disrespect. |

On the money! When I was in Ohio, my mom had her radio set to an AM radio channel that features Limbaugh and Savage (she doesn’t like either but she listens to everything political and controversial). Rush Limbaugh is a pathetic spinmiester and the ultimate wizard of disinformation and bullshit. I say this not because he is a conservative Republican, but because the man is a vortex of half truths, exaggerations and lies. There was a live phone conversation between Arnold Swazternegger and him. There were discussing the minimum wage increase in the state of California. When Swazternegger argued that he compromised with Democrats for a wage increase for the working poor who were struggling to live, Limbaugh heatedly shouted at Arnold, "….they don't need a minimum wage increase (workers)!" Those were his exact words. I was speechless. And Michael Savage was doing his predictable and patented ranting and raving. I never heard an intelligent or realistic argument from either.

Bro Dobs, you are 100% correct! Imus has no meaningful impact on their lives…..PERIOD! His comments have about as much influence and affect on their lives as that empty bottle of German Hefeweizen beer I just tossed in the trash. E'nuff said....

Understood. But I believe he really believes the bullshit he spews on the air waves. He has been doing this too long. what is more depressing than than the nonsense and misinformation he promulgates, is the fact that there are people who actually believe him! As bizarre and difficult as it is to believe, these people actually feel he is the antidote and messiah to Americas ills! IT'S SCARY...!!!!
