If you all missed this program, you must try to catch it if it re-airs. Very, very creepy. And seeing it made this whole thing seem like just yesterday for me.
THe documentary did a good job, I thought, in highlighting two things that often do not get explored enough in other presentations about Jonestown: (1) just how politically connected Jim Jones had become, and (2) the large extent to which Black folks were involved in this organization. |

I saw this documentary and it was creepy. And, naturally, I remember when it all happened. It's just amazing how some people can exert such powerful mind-control over others. And those who perfect this technique are always perverts. There is a dark force and a light force in the universe, and mystics are able to tap into it. It's just too bad there aren't any latter-day prophets like Jesus who used this power for goodness. But in these times, all of those who have channeled this force become corrupted by its dark side. IMO. |

If Jim Jones had been a black man, he could have never excercised such control over his mostly black flock.
Think of it. A black man tells a bunch of Negroes to sell all their property and move to the jungles of Guyana. Very few would have fallen for it.
He used to come here and stop off at a few churches in the area who were just lapping up his message of racial tolerance, etc.
Now these people won't own up to ever even knowing him.
A bunch of sheep waiting for another Judas goat to lead them to the slaughter.
What about the theory that this whole thing was a CIA mind control experiment? |

I have a book on conspiracies that says his father was a klansman and the body identified as his didn't have any of his tattoos. Interesting if it's true. |
