ok i recently saw the pursuit of happyness at the dollar show and i thought it was worth every penny! it was good, so i'd see rent it if you haven't seen it yet. 6 out of 10.
next was rocky balboa ... boooo! it was the worst editing i've seen in a movie for quite sometime. i give that a 2 out of 10.
and the last thing i saw was 300. if you like gladiator and braveheart then you'll like this movie. the story line isn't as strong as the other 2 movies in it's genre but the graphics surpass both braveheart and gladiator with ease. since i'm into visuals i give 300 a 8 out of 10. not to mention i'm a comic book lover so i knew what was up before i even saw this movie. it's definitely not a chick flick.
and lastly i rented stranger than fiction, which was not a comedy like i thought it would be, but was pleasantly surprised. queen latifah was in it, but i don't know why ...she's too good to play such a tiny role. but that's neither here nor there, it's a good rental and it is sort of on the chick flicky side. 6 out of 10.

Liked Happyness too. I'd give it a 7 on the Dobes' movie rating scale.
Haven't seen either Rocky or 300. I'll wait until Rocky's on one of my premium DirectTV cable stations. But I intend to see 300 this weekend. Looks like something that revs up the testosterone real good.
Never even hear of Stranger Than Fiction. What's it about? |

Well, Dobes, "300" was certainly a box office smash, breaking all records for any movie that has ever premiered in March, taking in a whopping 70 million bucks! This film was from the same crew who produced "Sin City" which was also based on a graphic novel. I LOVED "Sin City" and its special effects and I'm looking forward to catching "300" - when it hits cable. |

Cynique, unless you have a hi-fi flatscreen tv, then i would go see 300 at the theatre.
ABM, Stranger than Fiction is starring wWILL FERRELL, it's about a author who always kills her characters at the end of her stories and will ferrells character is a real person that the character thinks that she makes up ... he has to find her before she kills him off in the story because everything that she is writing is actually happening to the guy. it's not a comedy, but it is a good story and they also did a spectacular job with the visuals too. |

i saw 300, and I'd give it a 7 1/2 out of 10...the violence was gratifying...LOL! And the storyline was terrible... |
