I work with a very depressed female co-worker
I noticed how down she was one day,so I asked her if she was alright, she then began to tell me what was going on in her life. I wished I had'nt but I feel bad for the girl.
It turns out that she's from South Africa and, ever since she came to the U.S as a girl she has had a VERY HARD time fitting in.
She is VERY SHY. she is not ugly, but I think she
is going through a hard time financially.
She doesn't have money to spend on clothes or shoes or make up
A lot of the black females who come into the car shop, look down on her for some reason.
I've heard some of them make fun of her hair, she wears a afro.
I have no problem's with her.Unlike other Africans she doesn't think she is superior to American blacks. She can't stand American Black women,BUT THAT'S because of the way they treat her.I don't blame her.
Since she is a book worm,I gave this girl a book about self confidence and how success can be the best revenge.
She doesn't believe that she will ever make it.
She want's to be a actress one day.
But I pointed out that New York from Flavor flav's show the Flavor of Love, wanted to be a actress and now has her own reality show on VH1.
If New York as Annoying and untalented as she is, can make it
ANYBODY CAN MAKE IT.

I think that being successful can make the Hater's in a person's life JEALOUS.
My brother is a perfect example of this.
He was Disrespected in middle school and high school because of his skin tone(he's dark)and for being short. He went to a Mostly black high school, where a LOT of the girls made fun of him for being dark and short. He ended up going to college and graduated from college with honors.
He has grown a lot since high school. He isn't short any more.
Some of the females that dissed him the most in high school are now mad as hell Why? My brother made a LOT of Money investing in the stock market.
He has a collection of cars, and oh yeah he's dating a Italian girl.
The funny thing is that, this white female was the only girl that would give him the time of day during high school. Now that he is all rich and succesful he has women chasing him.

He's getting married to his girl next month
He's not bitter about the negative experiences he's had.
He told me that all the rejection he went through actually made him stronger.

Interesting story. In fact, I was telling a good friend of mine this morning about a brother I grew up with that was very dark complexioned. Black girls would constantly mock and laugh at him. All through high school, I never heard nor knew of a girl who would date or give this brother the time of day. Like your brother, he just rolled with the rejection and insults since he was a very good natured person. After years and years of taunting, I guess he just adapted and ignored it -at least on the outside.

Good for your brother. I hope he and the young lady he marries celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary one day. I also hope the young African girl finds her way out of the forest of self doubt and finds her direction in life.
