Hi Everyone,

Lately I've been noticing a trend in the industry. It seems like more and more authors are becoming radio hosts where they interview other authors. What's the cause for the trend? Does it help the author/host sell more books? Is there a fee associated with getting interviewed? Why won't the radio hosts just start a public access TV show instead?

Of course, I realize that more and more people are becoming authors and are looking for a way to be heard. I have no opinion on rather this is a good or bad thing. Just trying to understand the trend.

I look forward to reading your responses.

This is a trend? I haven't seen any examples of it but maybe - writers are more apt to have the gift of gab that every talk show host needs. Writers may also be just a little better informed about more topics, another asset a good talk show host should have.

I'm a publicist and I have contacted a few talk shows for my clients and some do have fees. In fact most do.

most literary places you see book covers on charge to post the book cover and info.
