Kola,

Can you believe one of my oldest/dearest friends once owned the SECOND issue of Batman. It was willed to him by a kindly Jewish gentleman (who bravely refused to flee our neighhood during the 'white flight' of the 60's - 70's). It, alas, was destroyed in a fire.

It's been +30 years since that happened. And we STILL 'mourn' it's passing. :-(

I haven't seen it. I may see it on when it comes on television or if I'm over somebody's house and they have it on.

I would say don't waste your time on it. You seen one movie about a man putting on a mask, capes and tights to fight crime and you seen 'em all.

Batman was the first man I ever wanted to marry. As a young child I once had Batman everything: sheets, curtains, bedside lamp. I'm sure the salesperson tried to steer my parents and me to the "girlie" bedroom accessories.

But I wanted Batman.

There is something about him. His quietness, introspection. His private torture. The fact that he doesn't have special powers, just a lot of money and a lot of cool stuff.

And yes, it likely comes as no surprise to anyone who has read my comments on other topics, I find the whole 3-generational homoerotic nature of the Batman mythology to be pretty cool...

(BTW, Chrishayden you take it back take it back right now the Batman is not just any man in a mask and a cape)

ABM---that is so sad. Sorry.

Chris---LOL.

Yvette---was it the comic book BATMAN or the t.v. Batman that you wanted to marry? The one on t.v. was Yucky. LOL

Note to all:

I'm still planning on starring in my own superhero t.v. movie "Volcano Woman"--within the next two years. At the end of the script, just as the happy citizens are throwing a party to get me to STAY and continue fighting crime, I'm swept away by my Black superhero husband--Anaconda Man. I hope either BET or the Sci-Fi Channel will air it. French man Jean Serrault is my Producer and believes we can raise enough money to shoot it in South Africa (where it would cost 1/5th the cost of shooting in the U.S. and the major cities there can double for New York).

Miss Ingrid (known to you as Foxy Brown) is going to do the "transformation theme".

Of course, my "VOLCANO WOMAN" is a Black American schoolteacher (virgin who wears glasses and has a CHILD sidekick) and she has quite a few super powers and can barely speak English once she turns into VOLCANO WOMAN.

I plan on getting some minor lifting of the face and a Body Suit so that I can look 27 playing the part.

But if they end up wanting a "series"--then I will Recast the role and just Produce it from there on out.

It's really a dream of mines to create this very NUANCED black woman superhero for black children to see.

And this bitch is BAD, honey.

Wonder Woman and CatWoman ain't shit!

Kola, I honestly can't remember which Batman I loved. I remember vividly my bedroom stuff had an animated Batman. I know I watched the live action show, too.

As far as your superhero idea--sounds great! Have you thought about what the possible impact of the recent "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" movie might mean for your naming? I know you had your idea long before this movie, but it is out first, so...

Lava Girl is not called "Volcano Woman" is she?

I just heard about it from you, LOL.

But anyway, our creation is from the African days when young women were "sacrificed" to to the Volcano.

Our Black American heroine has flashbacks to her other life as a young Princess sacrificed to the lava pool--which because of her prayers to the Sun God right before being thrown, she was imbued with the powers of the Sun.

'Vette,

I used to have the feelings about Julie Newmar's Catwoman that you had for the Caped Crusader.

THAT chick was PUUURRRRRFECT!

Kola,

I can't wait to see your "Volcano Woman" erupt all over the place. (Better have PLENTY industrial strength asbestos towels and mops handy, though.)

But cut Wonder Woman and Catwoman some slack. 'Cause Newmar and Linda Carter did they THANG!

And do I even have to ask what are the superpower's of "Anaconda Man"?
