In just 10 days, I will be receiving the warrior's medal for Honor and Bravery from the South Sudanese People's Liberation Movement.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 16th in Omaha, Nebraska---because the U.S. Government has designated that a CONTROLLED AREA.

1,000 people from SUDAN and other Africans are coming to see me, so I am very nervous.

Although I am the highest ranking woman in the Sudanese People's Liberation Army, there is considerable anger within the group about me being given a medal--because I'm a woman and I'm half Arab.

Some kind of DVD film will be made of the event and released this summer.

Please wish me luck and pray for me to be safe...and pray that I can sing the damn songs I'm supposed to sing.

Hey Kola, I don't know if you're still going to say the speech in Dinka, but in case you are and if you're going to say my name, remember that the i is pronounced like the letter e. People have known to pronounce it like in English, but it would be more appropriate if you say it the right way to a Dinka audience. If you have any questions, you can't call me right now because my cell's not working.... But you can ask someone from my tribe to pronounce it for you.

Hey Nyibol....yes, I am going to mention you when I thank the Prime Minister of Israel and the U.S. State Department--you will see it on the DVD.... and I will be speaking in DINKA, Nuer, Shilluk and Oromo throughout the ceremony. But my speech will be in English.

I will try to say as little in Arabic as possible--because I don't want to remind people that I am Half Arab when so many of the Nuer and Dinka feel that they should be getting a medal intstead of me. It's funny....but people STILL don't realize how much I've done for my people. I have achieved major things that not even the generals have been able to accomplish.

The filming of the DVD is not going well---my 2nd director quit because he got a PAYING job,and because my costumes weren't ready and the woman who made my two gowns for the ceremony completely got them wrong. Now we're rushing to completely REMAKE them over---plus waiting on the robe and African Seti Collar to be finished (the collar came out looking too Spanish like a sombrero, so I ordered them to remake that over, too). Its SOOOOO stressful.

The new gown is designed by "ME".

Pray that I don't cry TOO MUCH, because then I will mess up my songs, and I'm not much of a singer in the first place.

Love you.

It's Nye-bol, like that. I don't know if you know any swahili, but their letters, "Nya, Nye, Nyi...." have similar pronounciation to the first 3 letters in my name. I'm confused cause I don't get your question about my name above... I'm sorry, but tomorrow I'll go get my phone fixed so you can call me.

Thank you Mahogany!! Love you, too, sis.

Nyibol---the DVD will be heavily EDITED, so you will see me speaking bits of all the Cushite languages and singing in the Nubian language, NOBBIN.

Some SPLA men are VERY ANGRY and UPSET that I am getting the medal. They are protesting and threatening to make a scene at the Ceremony.

Great Nyibol. I will call you and go over it with you.

No, I don't speak "Swahili" for political reasons.

Congratulations on the award once again Kola. I know that you deserve it because no woman has done what you have done for the Southern Sudanese, although I don't know the entire story; I still respect the way you speak about the situation taking place and who's to blame and so fourth. I don't care about your background and all of that. I honor anyone who fought for me and my rights in my country. You did the same thing your parents were doing and this award is for the 3 of you. I love you and God bless you!

Nyibol, thanks for teaching me DINKA.

Because I have to do so many languages that night, I can't promise that I will do the Dinka "accent" correctly, but I promise to get your name right.

You are such a wonderful baby sister. Bless you.

Wish you Good Luck for the Big Event, Kola!

here a few affirmations for protection you can repeat before and on the big day from Florence Scovel Shinn (Continually affirming establishes the belief in the subconscious):

"I cast this burden on the Christ within, and I go free!"

"I am surrounded by the White Light of the Christ, through which nothing negative can penetrate."

"I walk in the Light of the Christ and my fear giants dwindle into nothingness. There is nothing to oppose my good. "

"Every plan my Father in heaven has not planned, shall be dissolved and dissipated, and the Divine Idea now comes to pass."

(you can ofcourse replace 'Father' by 'Mother'/'God/ess' /'Divine Love',or whomever that represents the Higher Power in your subconscious)

ASHERAH and Chris Hayden, thank you SO MUCH for the well wishes.

Hackers defiled my web site this morning to the point where it has to be temporarily shut down.

http://www.Kolaboof.com

This makes me very sad, because there was some Arab nut posting threats in the Guest Book all week----and on a usual day, I get 15 to 25 HATE EMAILS---but in the last week, I have been getting 100 HATE messages a day.

One woman even wrote that she's going to go down to the school and shoot my little boys in the head.

After 3 years in hiding, I'm used to this kind of intimidation, but it keeps my body in knots. I dreamt last night that I had cancer. Which is not a good dream to have.

I try to meditate and to take advantage of all the beautiful nature that surrounds me. But it's very hard not to be stressed out.

Please pray for everything to go well.

KOLA

hi Kola,

those people threatening you and your boys are sick in the head! I hope they choose to use their common sense, if they have any.

about your dream.. I don't know if it means anything, but maybe you should check out whether your body needs more anti-oxidants or something, because it can amass toxines, free-radicals(>which can become cancerous),..due to stress, even if you eat healthy.

I often have that and see a kinesiologist for that and get cured with alternative, natural treatments.

If you don't know what a kinesiologist is, there's more info on: http://www.kinesiology.net

I think it's great because it has non-invasive diagnostic procedures (called muscle-testing) and it also functions as an efficient evaluation tool to determine the most appropriate therapy, so your own body is considered as the expert and key to your healing..

Asherah, THANK YOU!

We will have to do a thread on these HEALTH things for Women once I get back. It's very interesting and we all need to know these tricks for healthier happier living.

No, I hadn't heard of Kinesiology.

Kinesiology is the study of the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of body movement, especially in humans. I'm majoring in it but for the coaching field. To become a coach, it's strongly recommended that I know Kinesiology. People get pretty amazed when I tell them, they think that am going to be a doctor or something, lol. Now I just tell them am majoring in Physical Education (P.E) is much easier for them to understand. With this major I could become a P.E teacher, a basketball, track, or any sport coach as long as I have knowledge of the sport. These days though, they can care less how much one knows about a sport, they hire coaches who have more educational background. I don't think that's a very smart move because in order to win games, in order for the players to learn something, the coach has to know what he or she is doing. For sure know I couldn't coach football because I don't know much about it, I just know the quaterback throws the ball and the players tackle each other to get a touch down.

I also have a minor which is Special Education, so I can teach students with special needs. I'm also going to have to learn Adapted physical education for my minor. Hopefully as soon as I'm done and get my degree I can get a job right away. Being a student is horrible, I need a job NOW:D.

Hi NYibol.

Boy is that fascinating. I never knew.

I'll have to do a little research on it and make one of my characters do something with it.

I actually have a character in my new novel named "Asherah"---just because I liked the name so much. I've decided that she's black but can pass for white if she wanted to.

Nyibol, I'm so proud of you. If people knew your background...coming from Sudan and the hardships you went through fitting in down in Texas...they'd be pleased and proud too.

You're a special person to be so strong and well adjusted. I can't wait to see all the exciting places your life is going to go.
