What's up, everybody!
It's your girl, JustWrite. I attended the Black Writers On Tour event over the weekend and I got to meet the lovely Kola Boof. She looks just like she does on her books: Gorgeous! I walked up to her table, where she was sitting next to Ms. Parry Brown, and stood in front of her, wondering if she’d recognize me or not. She didn't! She just looked at me, said, "Hi," then quickly looked away with an expression that read, "Why in the hell is this woman staring at me?" I was cracking up inside. Finally, I told her who I was, and she jumped up and gave me a hug. That was straight love!
Kola, I just want to let you know it was a pleasure meeting you. I also loved the poetry you read, I'm assuming from your upcoming book. You are a powerful woman and I wish you all the success a person could handle!

PAULA....I was so thrilled and excited to meet you as well. And you were so sweet (Parry Brown had me cracking up, she's so funny and smart).

AND NO...when they called me up on stage to read from my book, it wasn't planned, so I read poems from my poetry collection "NILE RIVER WOMAN". But girl, the audience was shocked at the rage in my work--couldn't you tell?
It was fun.
Dr. Rosie had an AFTER-PARTY in her suite after the festival was over. It was a small group of about 30 people. WE HAD A BLAST!!!! You must didn't know about it because Ken Shapiro asked me where you were and why didn't you come. I stayed until about 10:30 pm and ate like a pig.
