Yukio: I'll take care of you later. St. Louis, MO, 11:45 am I'm on my way to the computer lab at the Divoll Branch Library to log in and check on my investments (right). Divoll is located at Carter and Grand in the heart of the inner city--need I say more. I'm walking north past this motel--one of them hot sheets joints where nobody checks in with luggage or stays the night unless they have been thrown out of some place. Two cops, male and female are bracing this dude in the courtyard of the motel the front office. Suddenly he breaks down running toward the street--right toward me. The female cop draws her nine and yells at the dude. Guess who also is looking down the barrel? I yell "Watch it!" and spring back the other way--with surprising speed and agility for an old man. The perp runs out of the courtyard, down a couple of houses vaults a fence with the cops in hot pursuit. When I am sure it is safe I continue walking north. The female cop is coming back my way--the perp is still running I assume with her partner in pursuit. I say, "How's it going, officer. You okay?" I want to say something else but she does have a gun and is quick to pull it. She don't look at me. As the Tempts sang, "It's an everyday thang, In the ghetto." |

Chris, Yeah, it can happen just like that in the 'hood. Can't it? I am glad you did not end up a sad story on the nightly news. Yukio, I don't think Chris would have been able to say the same thing to a male officer. Because a guy probably would have shot him. |

Yukio and ABM: I would have cursed a male officer out. Yukio: At it again, eh? |

Your little vignette could've been prefaced with that old tv intro, Chris, the one about there being "8 million stories in the naked city, and this has been one of them." Talk about dodging a bullet! Glad you didn't end up the inspiration for a huge demonstration against police brutality. |

CH: Of course i'm at it. It is so easy with you. Much of what you say ooozes with dichotomous gendered renderings. These differences are so ingrained in your normal thought process, as if there are no other ways to think.... Consider ABM's retort, "Because a guy probably would have shot him." Why would a male officer shoot and not a female officer? I don't disagree with his suspicion, btw. Yet, the fact that this suspicion is already there a priori the event suggests that there may not be possibilities for other outcomes....at least as far as our thought process is concerned..... |

Yukio, Admittedly, I was exaggerating the point that Chris would have been shot were the officer male. I do, however, think that we will all agree that males are typically more agressive/violent (be it inherent, rearing, whatever) and, thus, if provoked, are more prone to kill. |

ABM I don't disagree with ya conclusion that men are statistically and historically more violent/agressive. I do, however, disagree with the supposition that women can not be agressive/violent, and especially if she is then she is behaving manly....it would only be manly if it is biological, but we've had this discussion before. It is so easy to poke fun at CH. Fun and easy....good evening! |

Yukio, Who made a "supposition" that women can't be "aggressive/violent"? Not me! And I don't recall Chris saying such either. I have had/have enuff dealin's with chicks to know dat suma yawl can be as dangerous as any dude. And you are right. We shouldn't go around-n-around again on the nature-vs-nuture gender issue. |

Strangely enuff, Yukio's comments did come of as being somewhat pornographic, didn't they? HAHAHA!!! I don't know about you, Chris. But usually after I have been "oozing with dichotomous gendered renderings", I have to take a good, warm shower. |

All: Could one still be a clergyman or woman if one oozed dichotomous gendered renderings, or must one practice (what is the state of denial of ooze-- non-oozement?) |

Of course, one could....gendered beliefs are taught, besides those that are determined by our biology, ie child birth. We are taught to be men and women, for the most part. And the many religious texts are full of "gendered renderings." Of course, among the many religions you will find a various hierarchies. It seems that these gendered hierarchies and roles are reproduced in families, religion, culture, government, and law , ie the property relationships between husband and wife, etc....all of this was done to maintain a particular tradition, whether it was matriarchical or patriarchical. |

Chris, actually after I have done my recommended amount of "oozing" (still good for 2 - 3, if the wife relents), I enjoy a nice, fat BLT sandwich (with cheese & mayo) and a dripping cold bottle of Rolling Rock beer. I think it is clear by revelations of sexual impropriety involving Catholic priests that some clergy are "oozing" all over the place. And dude, if you have not personally witnessed the "dichotomous gendered oozing" of a woman...well...you haven't lived! |
