One of my very favorite Cd's is the Greatest Hits collection by Barry White. He makes me want to make love..even as I'm pregnant! I loved him as an artist..but then to read his autobiography and to hear the glowing words of his beautiful ex-wives, especially Glodine...made me love him all the more. To know that even as a womanizer..he treated his wives good and LAVISHED LOVE on his 8 children..made me grin with joy. It don't hurt that his mother looked like a pure blooded Ashanti woman. Blue black and skinny with a V-shaped face and catepillar lips. May God bless Barry White. He died too young. 58 should have been just the beginning. I love him, I love him, I love him! |

Yeah, it's monumentally sad that Barry White has passed on. Barry was - and still is - one of a kind. Barry, with the harmonious aid of the illustrious Electric Light Orchestra, helped make all of us more comfortable with and proud of being sexual, loving beings. Man! Barry's voice, lyrics and delivery, along with his deep, dark skin and full beard were so profoundly masculine, his music and visage made me feel deeply PROUD to be a Black man. And that playa is responsible for helping more folks, Black/White/Other, to get laid than is the Sealy Posture-Pedic Bed Company. I'm happy to see he had reconciled with all of his former loves before he departed. Though you have passed on to tomorrow, Barry, your sensually soulful and stirringly loving grooves will endure. And those of us whom you have left behind "Ain't never gonna give you up!" GOD Speed, Brother Barry White! |

ABM: First I had to blink. When did Barry White record with the Electric Light Orchestra? You mean the Love Unlimited Orchestra, don't you? (You mixed your soul music and your disco with the art rock) |

HAHAHA!!! You got me, Chris! You are right. Barry recorded with Love Unlimited Orchestra, not Electric Light Orchestra (Both were sweet. Weren't they?). I always get them confused. I guess because they seemed to be of similar styling and eras. Thanks for the correction. |

ABM: You know that might have made for an interesting record. With the technology being what it is today, I wonder if ELO might be interested in doing a remix? |
