Chris, I'm inclined to believe that it is those on the religious right who really support this war. After all, we're getting rid of someone who's known to harbor terrorists, treats his subjects like dirt, and, by the way, we can't find the real mastermind behind 9/11 so let's just kick the balls of this guy...
I'm well aware of the doomsday scenario that plays out in Revelation. Anyone who has read the Bible and understands what they're reading understands the scenario. But I don't trust people like John Hagee and Jack Van Impe because they've been wrong too many times before, in God's name I'll have you know. Y2K, for example, was supposed to be the beginning of massive economic chaos and all the popular apocalyptic visions. Folks listening to all this doomsaying went out and put billions of dollars into the survival industry's pockets. And for what? All it meant to me was that I had to go to work Saturday morning and check that everything worked (which it did, beautifully).
The men and women fighting over in Iraq, and everywhere else around the globe, have my support always. They put their lives on the line so that we can do what we do here at home. But I cannot, in good conscience, support the administration that has put them, quite willingly, in harm's way. |
