Hello All,
Maybe it's me, but I gotta ask WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL!? Really! NYPD Blue show naked behinds all the damn time. We get to see Janet's boobie for what, a second, if that, and all this hell is being generated. Folks need to get themselves some business. It certainly knocked her brother out of the media spotlight, didn't it? |

I was about to castigate you folk for ignoring the Janet Jackson contretemps when I did some back channeling and found it here.
Apparently it is not over. She has been banned from the Grammies. Bounced from the Lena Horne Pic. Now Disney has decided to remove her statue.
For those of you listening to your copy of "Control" and weeping inconsolably, you should lighten up (that would be you, Cynique)
She didn't murder anybody or commit treason. She has a record out, and will probably give SRO concerts. Remember Vanessa Williams?
Janet will be going to the bank--may not be laughing all the way. I'm sure that people will rag her about it for years.
I tell you, if I had been her manager and she had asked me what I thought of doing it, I'd have told her that the most that would happen would be a few outraged letters to the network.
I think, folks, that it is not this. I think tensions are high, and people are outraged about things happening that they do not, or dare not, know about. |

What are you talkin about, Chris? I'm not a Janet Jackson fan. She really can't sing, and her bootie shakin doesn't do anything for me. I do find it amusing, however, that Lena Horne has conveniently forgotten her wild, wreckless youth. Anyone who has read any of her biographies knows that she was quite the party girl in her scantily-clad cotton club days. She also had a torrid, clandestine love affair with Joe Louis. |

I forgot. You like the heavy breathing of so-called chantuese Sade (pronounciation: ti-yad!) Yeah, when folks feel like they are getting close to the finish line they bury all the old hijinks, don't they?
Actually Janet would have been awful in the role. She needs to concentrate on light comedies. Probably see if she can get a sitcom playing somebody's mom. |

Dat's right. I loves me some Sade. Janet is a hoochie mama. Actually, I can't think of anybody who would make a good Lena Horne. Her stage persona was that of a sultry, sophisticated femme fatale. Who fits that bill? All of the singers today are too animated and skanky. Except of course Sade - but, no, she wouldn't make a good Lena. Brainstorm: Alicia Keyes! |

LOL! Now you know they would change her hair and slap in some contacts. But she was the first one I thought about who may be able to pull off the sultry sophisticated part. She can somewhat sing. Well, Lena isn't a great singer either, IMO, so she might work. She was the first to pop in mind because of skin color and body structure. |
