I don't think anyone really "won" --though I feel Kerry clarified his view on some topics. I think Kerry is extremely well-spoken. His promises are heavy. I just want to know how he plans on accomplishing on these goals. They sound great, but are they realistic?
Bush........oral communication has always been his downfall. He is just the type of person who doesn't respond well under pressure. Nevertheless, I agreed with some of the points he made.
I think the debate will make a difference for those that have not made up their minds yet. I thought it was informative.

I think Kerry won. And I think he appeared more Presidential than Bush. But I don't think it will be enough to help him win in November.
Because foks have been lulled into expecting so little of Bush's oratory skills that as long as he doesn't have a "Howard Dean" ("babbling idiot") moment, he will retain enough of an advantage to win the election.
BTW: Did you notice that when they showed both men, the camera views did not allow the observer to see that Kerry is a bigger, more powerful looking man than Bush? |

Noone "won". Kerry and Bush remind me of two brothers. One doesn't really know what he wants to do most days, others, he is sure he wants to be just like his big brother.
Bush on the other hand is the thug brother that you don't talk politics with, you just go git him when the bully pushes you at school or not. Even though he is 20 and your bully is 14, he's still gonna' fight cuz he don't give a @(#*!!! He's the brother you're talking about when you say, Don't make me go get Rae Rae on you!!!
So you got the smart, slightly punk brother and the not so smart--thug brother. Neither is of any real worth on their own.

I think Kerry won, as do all the polls coming out. He did what he had to do to define himself, and George Bush looked befuddled from time-to-time, probably because this was the first time he had ever come face to face with someone who didn't agree with him. But, I don't think either one of them scored a knock-out punch or changed anyone's mind. Bush will probably be re-elected, and the American people will get what they deserve. More of the same BS. |

I think Bleek gives Bush too much credit. Dubya is a big bluffer who runs to his Daddy to get him out of trouble. And once he got to be President, his surrogate Dad became Dick Cheney. Bush is not the architect of the Iraq war. He's the pawn of all of those zealots and neocons who surround him. All he is, is the bumbling front man whose job is to repeat the same phrases over and over. |

Speaking of Poppa Bush: Did you notice the look on Bush Jr's face when Kerry very cleverly cited parts of Bush Sr.'s autobiography that refuted the plausibility of invading Iraq?
Talking about a Kodak moment?
I recall hearing someone close to the Bush's say that Bush Jr. openly lamented that his father appeared more distraught by brother Jeb's loosing a Florida gubernatorial election than was his father happy that he had won the same post in Texas.
Sometimes, I think we are caught up in an intra-family drama where the 'Prince' who ended up 'King' was not his sire's first choice. |

It has also been reported that both his parents were surpised at his being selected as the Republican candidate for president. He was definitely not the golden boy of the family. |

So the guy who is the "leader of the free world" rates as a second-rate nincompoop with his own @#$% parents! And, ironically, even if Jeb is 'the goods', he likely will NEVER be elected because of what happened in FL during the 2000 election.

Don't you wish that Poppa George and Barbara would save us all a lot of pain, grief and money by grabbing Junior's bungling @$$ by his belt hook, laying a switch to'em and then putting him on a 4-year long punishment? |

In a way, the best punishment for Bush is to be re-elected. Look what he's going to inherit. A war he can't win, a country on the brink of domestic turmoil, no European allies, Korea and Iran rattling sabres, Russia selling America out. When ol Georgie smirks and says "bring it on," he's gonna be flattened by the stampede. |
