I was rooting for the 'Skins too. Too bad they got their's handed to'em by the Cowpokes.

Funny though. I was a HUGE Dallas fan during the heydey of the 70's Tom Landry, Rodger Staubach, Harvey Martin, Ed Too Tall Jones and Tony Dorsett days.

Even though happened it over 20 years ago, one of my most dreaded sports moment is when San Francisco's 49'er's Dwight Clark's made the leaping game-winning catch over Dallas' Everson Wall's in the 1982 NFC Championship game.

But even though I admired their most recent successes and liked recent stars like Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman, I haven't been able to cotton much "dem Cowboys" since Jerry Jones bought the team.

And oh, I'm rootin' for the 'Skins because I think Joe Gibbs is (at least this side of San Francisco) the finest coach in the history of professional football.

I was a big Dallas Cowboys fan too, ABM, during the Rodger Staubach era. I had a crush on the tall, super dark black guy who was later convicted of RAPE and got on cocaine. I forget his name now.

My all time favorite team is the GREEN BAY PACKERS.

Then comes Buffalo, The Redskins, Indianapolis and the Chicago Bears.

I like UNDERDOGS.....although Green Bay kept winning all the super bowls back during the days when I was WEARING A GREENBAY CATSUIT and holding placcards in the stands cheering them.

I always hated the 49 'ers....cause that was my BROTHER'S favorite team and he is soooooo fanatical about the 49'er's.

I can't stand their uniforms either. YUK!

Teams I HATE:

The 49'ers's
Rams
Oakland Raiders
San Diego Chargers
(now) Dallas Cowboys
Seattle Seahawks.

I have a deep hatred for the West Coast and everything about it.

ODD.

Miss_wysteria,

Who are you referring to? Hollywood Henderson or Harvey Martin? I think they both struggled with drug problems, though I think Martin’s were not as widely reported.

You are both a Packers and Bears fan? Hmmmm? I did not think that THAT was cosmically possible.

I feel your 49er’s hate. But you got to give them theirs. That was a one point the finest run organization in the country (business, government or charity)...bar none.

And the RAAADAHS, crazy as hell as they were, have been a kick*$$ outfit too.

But what the H*ll is withchu LALA landers that you can’t support a freaking pro team? I can't believe you all let that hoochie-that-married-well Georgia Frontiere get away with sneaking off to St Louis then winning a Super Bowl.

BTW: Thanks for the Green Bay catsuit visual. Excuse me a few minutes while I...ummm...take care of ‘something’. (hehe!)

OK, ABM

Terrible confession to make.

I "basically" choose my football teams by....

....their

....UNIFORMS.

I like the Packers and the Colts uniforms. I like Mike Dikta, so I support the Bears. I like the Redskins, because that's my home team.

I used to love DALLAS, because they have the very best uniforms in football. Oakland is #2.

But I despise everything about California and that includes the RAIDERS.

I was glad the RAMS left (I dated one!!! He was nice black guy, too. Very kind.)

Was it Hollywood Henderson?

NO.

It was the really tall, very dark dark guy. GOD--that was like 15 years ago. I can't think of his name, but it's on my tongue.

That's OK Miss Wys. I sometimes choose basketball teams by the cuteness of their players.

Miss_wysteria,

Are you’re talking about Erik Williams or Leon Lett.

Crystal,

You can’t make enuff dough in the LA Coliseum to pay +$20M signing bonuses to some overhyped dope who’ll likely NEVER live up to his contract.

Ladies,

Yours are cool enuff methods of picking favorite teams/players. (I too think I in part fell for that star on the Cowboys’ helmet.)

‘Sides. It’s not like you ladies are as dumb as us guys, who follow these overgrown Neanderthal around starting from high school, college then pros.

Cuz you all have more important things to do...like get pedicures and shop.

PS: Ditka is the most overrated PWT-turned-rich cracker to ever coach in the NFL.

I'll give it to Joes Gibbs, but Dan Snyder --can't stand the personality of that spoiled, rich brat. I luv the "Fire Dan Snyder" bumper stickers I see every so often.

I basically cheer for any team that is playing the Skins! In general though, I luv football!

Moonsigns,

I feel you on that lil' p*$$@$$ Synder.

But Baby, Gibbs is the TRUTH. Dude kicked tail in football, then car racing, and now he's back to get his in football...AGAIN!

This season represents the 20-year anniversary of The Chicago Bears winning the Super Bowl. To celebrate this momentous occasion, our newly-drafted quarterback, um - what's-his-name, has incurred an injury which has put him out for the rest of the year, along with 3 others major players on the team. But, help is on the way. They've signed former Dallas QB Chad Hutchinsons to save the day. (Chad Who?) Just a little item for those of you taking delight in the perennial ill fortunes of Chicago's athletic teams.

Cynique,

That's par for the course for Chicago.

Leave it up to the Bear to beat Green Bay (a team that has own'em for over a decade) one week, then lose their new hotshot quarterback the next.
