What is the name of the book you have written? I was reading old posts and I saw that Carey had mentioned a book you've written but couldn't remember the title in it's entirety. |

Ooooooh, Bleek. Do I have to tell? It was just a little self-published paperback I wrote as a retirement project. It was entitled "Along The Way" and it kinda fell along the wayside. I never did much with it because the general consensus was that it was too short and needed to expanded and re-written. |

The protagonist, Varnado, who also narrates the story, is African American. There are black, white, Asian, Latino vampyres in it. They are generally without politics, but some of them are members of the establishment--they don't tend to favor one political party over another, as they live and "work" regardless of who is in power.

Well, Lambd, you certainly weren't redundant in your response. But I'd say that your text could've been better researched when it came to the subject of vampires.

Cynique: I met Kola, she seemed very nice. A very warm person. She is an extremely talented writer. I like her writing style. I picked up a copy of Flesh and the Devil. I only read the first hundred pages so far because I've been busy, but it is very well written. She is also quite attractive. She is a big woman, too. Big as in tall! She has got to be at least 6'3"!
Anyway, I asked if I was being edited because I started a thread and got maybe six or seven responses, a few days later, I couldn't find it. I was trying to get you to give me a message for Kola when I saw her. Is that why its gone? |

Oh, Lamd! I forgot to thank you for the report. I'm not surprised at your impression of Kola. Me and my ESP powers were always able to detect what emanated from Kola's posts. I felt that, among other things, she was a warm, generous person. And it's obvious to anyone that she is an intelligent woman and a good writer. But she and I continued to clash over "cultural" differences.
Was your post promoting Kola's book in any way? Maybe it was deleted because somebody didn't want to give her a free plug. Who knows? |

Thank you SO much for coming to my event. And yes, I was raised in Anacostia (off Naylor and Good Hope Road).
You're pretty cute yourself, daddy. (Wink) "Tall, Fine and chocolate" to be more specific. Your brown eyes and deep voice are nothing less than DREAMY.
I truly enjoyed feeling on your muscles and hugging you and kissing you. Good thing you got to the auditorium early. LOL. Thanx for laughing at my coquettishness.
I cried a lot and it felt good. People don't realize that it's one of my quirks--I always cry. They think I'm a rough, tough warrior, but you know different now.
Also...thanks for acknowledging that I really am a writer (a very good one) and for saying nice things about me.
I did OK in Wash. D.C. and was proud to speak at the Sudanese Embassy and on radio--but the reaction I received in MEMPHIS, Tenn. was nothing less than astounding!!!! I truly enjoyed Memphis and the people threw so many parties for me and we took so many pictures and videos. I arrived in Philadelphia DRUNK and full of neckbones.
I leave for home today...to see my sons before I start back on tour.
Please check your email from time to time, because I just found out that Univ. of Maryland wants to PAY ME to return and lecture at the Black Studies Dept. (all expenses paid) in the next 6 weeks...so I will be back in D.C. and this time you and I can have lunch or dinner.
I was so overwhelmed and encouraged, LAMBD, by your kindness and your support. Thanks for being there.
