All,

When you post anonymously on a board, are you being the person that people see in real life, in your day to day task of making a living, loving, meeting people, sharing thoughts and ideas, raising your children, etc. in the real world?

A board, any board in cyberspace is one dimensional, it gives those who read only a snapshot of who you might be. MIGHT being the operative word. It can unleash a facet of your being that you might otherwise always keep under wraps, if you so choose.

Do you think that you can create a persona on a board and have everyone reading it thinking that that is who you really are? Or do you think that any lurkers and others would read what you post and assume that you really are the person you present when writing on a thread?

Finally, do others, those who do post using your real names, do you believe that those who post anonymously are being who they project on this board? And if they are, why not use their real names? What is the purpose of using aliases?

I think Yukio, proved beyond a doubt that when it comes to a board, perceptions can without a doubt be shaped and molded by what a person projects and what the reader sees in their minds eye when they read, and the illusion of who that person is becomes firmly entrenched, in ones mind over a period of time, whether that period is long or short, to the point of believing that the person who is writing, the persona they allow to be created, becomes in the mind of the reader, a real person. Do you think that professional people that you may have dealings with, publishers, editors, other writers and the like, form an opinion of who you are based on what you post? What do you think?

I can tell you this: If any of you would meet me on the street and I engaged you in a conversation(with the exception of a couple of people who Ive shared a peek at my book, and one who I shared a photo with) none of you would recognize me.

Is this true of the rest of you anonymous posters?

I guess, the thought that I want to leave here is when it comes to getting to know an anonymous "voice" on a board perceptions based on what is projected are not always what is!

A_womon,

Who are we, really?

I am one person here. One person with my wife, another with my children, another with my mother and MANY others with my myriad friends, associates, suborbinates, clients, co-members, etc.

Who we are will inevitably be dictated to some degree by the nature of the relationships we share with others. My relationship with you is one of a freeflow of intellectualism. That allows for a candor that is perhaps not appropriate for discussion with my nine year old daughter. Both relationships are real...yet different.

I won't pretend to know/control what others, especially editors/publishers, think of my persona here (or anywhere else for that matter).

Nor do I know whether one would "recognize" me as that presumes that what one says can be accurately match to a specific set of physical traits.

Yes, this is but a partial manifestation of who I am. But in truth, it is no less valid than that of what you might observe of me in person. Actually, you here in some ways know more about the true 'ABM' (wonders/warts) me than the guy who lives down the block from me.

I think most of the people who have known the physical me as close/intimate friends would recognize most the person I am here. Most of them know I am a vulgar, sex-crazed, know-it-all, fake-wannabe stand-up comedian who has spent too much time in dictionaries/encyclopedias. I have even invited some of them to check out what I post here. And their feedback to me mirror those expressed by some of you who regularly post here.

The primary reason why I chose to be anonymous here is I would not want anything controversial I say here to negatively affect and reflect upon my wife/kids. Were I single/kidless, I would probably share my real name/background. But who knows. Perhaps I will anyway...someday.

My AAlBC name is Bleekindigo. My real name is Cheryl. If I post as Bleekindigo and my posts are always negative or derogative on some level and you were to meet me A-Woman and I introduced myself as Cheryl, but told you my post name was Bleek, what you would pull from your mental memory are the tone and content of my posts. Correct?

How do I combat that? Do I say, oh, i'm a bitter-B*$%h making derogatory comments about black folks (if that were the case) when i'm Bleek on the boards, but in "real" life, i'm actually a very nice person and I LOOOOOVE BLACK PEOPLE!!!

I know that Cynique poster on aalbc is witty and loves Viggo, Carey poster on aalbc is funny and has me in stitches alll the time, A-woman poster on aalbc is fiesty.

I got that from the board. Maybe you folks really aren't any of those things i've gathered from your posts, but if I met each of you those are the things I would pull from my mental notebook.

I believe that here, you are what you post and whether we want them to or not, our words, the tone of them, create us for the reader.

Bleekindigo and Cheryl(my momma given name)are the same. If I posted as Cheryl, i'd be posting the same way I post as Bleek. Bleek is just a cooler board name than, well...Cheryl-

Bleek-

The things I say here are probably the same things I would say to you in person. I would more than likely cool it down a degree or two in person because when people are face to face they tend to be more guarded...Less open....Naked, if you will. However, for the most part, a situation on the board would be responded to the same way in person.

I will say this, A_woman, you come off young and fiery most of the time, but once in a while we get a glimpse of a more mature, intelligent and insightful person...I'm not exactly sure which I like better. I think "Youngun" is more entertaining for me, because confrontation gives me an adrenaline rush, even from a spectators point of view...However, the mature A_woman is more my speed, intellectually, romantically, and she is definitely more attractive and engaging...Ahem...from an older, cyberfriend, point of view...Ahem.

Well, in some cases, this board is like alchohol. A drunken person's words are a sober one's thoughts. LOL.
Me? I am, who I am, no different in the flesh than I am in the abstract. I may have grown old, but I never grew up. I remain a girl at heart. I couldn't be different, even I wanted to be.
When it comes to evaluating others who post here, I do think that a perceptive person can sense what transcends an individual's board persona. "Watastar" just blows me a way because she's such a joyous free spirit, as opposed to a-womon whose feistiness I think is a defense mechanism, something that stems from a basic distrust of people. But, - I somehow know that she is warm and giving to those she likes, because she has such a capacity for strong emotions. As for Lambd and Abm and Chris and Carey and Thumper and Troy - dem niggas is, who dey is. No subtefuge here. Yukio, however, puzzles me a bit. I discern that he is introverted and introspective but I feel that once he gets to know you, he will let down his guard and embace you. But, you have to penetrate his barrier and not crowd him.
Bleek, - you and sis gal and, yes, moonsigns, are among several of the female posters whom I'm sure I'd have fun hangin with.
And, so, in conclusion I'd like to say, in the words of that friendly ol philosopher, Noit All, "I may not be right, but I'm never wrong."

ok cyn,

But why post anonymously? Does anonymity give one the ability to let down thier guard? does it allow them to be someone else? If you answered these questions, please be more succinct and clear in your answer.

Bleek, ok but do you believe it's possible for a poster to create a persona that is totally the opposite of who they really are and have that persona "speak" for them?

And I aint talking about schizophrenia either.

I'm speaking of something akin to giving your character's voice in writing a book? Do you think an exercise of this nature would help you hone your writing skills, even if you didn't pull it off?

I do

I post anonymously because that's the usual protocol on these discussion boards. It's more fun that way. Furthermore, people don't know me from Adam, so using my real name wouldn't really make that much difference. BTW, Kola Boof was always creating new characters to post under. She would completely take on these different personas, speaking in different voices and giving them different back grounds. It just depends on what a poster wants to do. And it's something nobody has any control over.

A_womon,

I think you know the answer to all of your questions would be "Yes, in certain situations and for certain people. And no in others."

As in all other life endeavors, Foks do things here for different reasons. Some of us want to make serious commentary, some want to goof-off and most probably want to dabble somewhere in between.

Seeing is not always believing.

There are people who see me EVERYDAY who really don't know $#@+ about me. I have relatives who have known me from either their or my birth and we don't even know each other's middle names.

And sowhat you meet someone. What does that REALLY tell you about anyone these days.

You could see a brothah who at first glances looks like a big ol' chocolate-flavored love god only to discover he's got false teeth, hair plugs, elevated shoes, halitosis and a recent bankruptcy. And any guys who's been around the block has bumped into his share of fake hotties with dead Korean hair, hazel contact lens, wonderbras, girdle and spiderveins.

So the real question is WHY is any of what you ask important to you? What would you have us do? Be and behave here as YOU desire us to?

Bleekindigo says: "i'm actually a very nice person and I LOOOOOVE BLACK PEOPLE!!!"
ABM says: Yeah, right! That's what ALL n*&&@#-hating Black foks say.

Lambd,

I gottah give it to yah. Leave it to you to turn A_womon's attempt to have a serious discussion into a chance to try to get in her pants.

I can't even be mad atchu 'bout dat, playah!

Well A_Womon, you know I know what's behind the questions and I am sure they were not what you were looking for. No matter how you try to shape the question you are going to have to accept the facts. Having read most if not all your post (this is not to check you either) you seem to find it difficult to accept what is true or right when it differs from your view/opinion. Don't leap in now, think about it. I'm saying this to help you understand why you are having problems. It basically starts with you. Age has nothing to do with it unless of course we concider the relationship of age and maturity. Yes, with age comes wisdom (in most cases). Maybe you're just not there. You constantly say that WE don't understand, I submit to you that it could be YOU. Again, I'm not saying this to slam you but everyone except you can't be wrong. So maybe you should take a deep honest look inside. We all have had to face some ugly truths about ourselves but until one does that he/she will forever be fighting with the world.

I have to echo another postee. We probably know more about each other here on the board than do our next door neighbors or even some family members . Because no matter or reason or purpose for being here, we answer each from the base of what we know and who we really are. There's great insight one can learn about a postee simply from what he/she posts. Their opinions of subjects or issue lets you know what kind of thinker they are or even to some degee what kind of person they are. When we give our opinions we ain't trying to fool anyone we are coming with it. Therefore our answers tells stories. Make no misstake about it your posts represent you. I agree, there are various reason some choose not to post their reals names. But I doubt if any have done it so that they can talk stupid and crazy and then no one would know it was them. Yeah, now that would be nuts. So young lady, yes the world is watching and Yes, some have created a picture of you, an image that, right or wrong is how they see you. And they have an opinion of how you would handle certain situations, again, it may be totally different than who we "think" we are but we are working with the tools at hand and in this case it's our posted words. Right or wrong, it's our perception and therefore it's real! Now again, I doubt anyone has come on the board to be someone totally different than who they were. I'm sure this board has given them the oppurtunity take chances they wouldn't ordinarily have taken but no one is trying to draw a picture of themselves to fool others, what would be the point. Now if someone was trying to get their freak on and represented themselves as the opposite sex so they could flirt in a kinky way, that's another thang. All in all, generally we are who we really are even though the names may change.

Carey, I have no idea how old you are, but you have got to be at least a decade older than how old you really are. You are an incredibly brilliant and articulate human being.I can only hope to one day be half the wordsmith you are. Thank you for your last post. Picture this:

********there's a man sitting in the corner of a room. He's obviously in deep thought. His head lifts up, his eyes are tight, they don't blink, they gaze towards the ceiling. his expression is quizzical and pained. His lips part as if he's mumbles something. He stands up, stomps his foot as if he's mad, his hands are on his hips as he turns his head slowly from side to side as if looking for something or someone. He then says, "that's it, I can't stand it anymore". He's seen walking slowly to the opposite side of the room and stops in front of a mirror. He stares at the mirror for several seconds, his eyes don't blink, and then he says, " Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the biggest damn fool of them all". The mirror replies, " You are you damn fool, now go sit your foolish ass back in that chair and stop thinking about it". The man lets out a sigh of relief, turns and starts walking back towards his chair. Half way there he could hear the mirror let out a "pssst", he turned back around and the mirror wink at him. he laughed, stood tall, and skipped away, out of view ***********

Carey,

If what you say is true, I still say we are not ALL that we appear to be on a board. A board is just a one dimesional view, and words are subject to interpretation of the reader. You can't see an expression, or an attitude,a smile or a wink. You can't read a person's true intentions, even if you think that you have, you can be dead wrong. That has been proven here time and time again. Even when the person tells you that what you have percieved is wrong, some of you still continue to tell them they are wrong about what they have written.

Now, this post was not about me. Even though some of you took it to be, I just wanted some honest feedback to the questions that I asked, because I was talking to someone about it. I maintain that you can't get a full picture of someone by what they post, but only one facet of thier personality.
Carey is hilarious on this board, but certainly you are not cracking jokes and being funny in every situation. Certainly that is a part a big part maybe of who you are, but it is not ALL of who you are.

And if someone allowed a persona for the board, and they give you their reason for doing so, why can't you Carey, accept that reason and not continue to say, well they just wanted to get thier freak on? You are still overlapping your perceptions onto what that person has told you, and so you have convinced yourself that what you believe is what this person is even though you have never met this person, right? I guess I am not the only person who can't accept that they can on occasion be wrong.

Take Solomon Jones, he is foine and young and successful, and intelligent...and married. NO let's not take Solomon cause my mind can't stay focused and on point when he comes to mind! *no disrespect Mrs Jones but I'm crushing BIG time*:-)

Lambd, you are a teacher and a brilliant poet, but some of the things you post aint for consumption by lets say, your students or your bosses right? so you can't tell me that some of the things that you display on this board carry over into how you teach?? or does it?

OK lets use me, If I was confrontational in all that I do in life, I couldn't successfully interview anyone for a magazine article, I couldn't make friends with most of the people that I interview. Hey, I have even interviewed, Cherelle, of old school, Alexander Oneal and Cherelle fame, I would have interviewed Alexander too, but he was late. I mention them because they are representative of Carey's and a lot of the rest of your ages and I was able to maintain a level of interest and engage Cherelle throughout the interview. I have had interviews with the publicist of Cirque du Soliel, and many, many others. Now, Carey, if I was so immature and confrontational all the time, don't you think my reputation would proceed me and that no one would want to do interviews with me?
So maybe all of you who have responded are all of or only what you appear to be on this board.

But I am not.

PS Solomon, if you read this, can I get a interview with you for the magazine? :-):-)

Carey,

Your "August 21, 2004 - 10:15 pm" post was wonderfully written. It reminds me of a discussion I have had recently with another TC poster.

In it, you provoke what it means to have lived a long, full life. It evokes that you have seen the world change several times before your eyes. The mirror reflects back to you a face that another, perhaps former self would finds both wholly strange and utterly familiar. And all the angst and joy that wrought those changes.

You have seen and felt it all. Youth. Learning. Love. Birth. Life.

...and lost.

And still you endure and even grow stronger daily.

But, sadly, yours is a perspective that many of us cannot enjoy and appreciate the benefit of. Today, too few of us know you; a loving, loyal and 'wise' sire.

All of us have many facets to our personalities. Over a period of time, as we mature and become flexible, we are able to wear different hats and adapt to various situations. But we are, who we are. What this board provides is a venue for people to sound off and stretch out. It also allows us to lower our inhibitions and make a caricature of our sexuality. And for posters who can read between the lines, a false identity fools no one. Me, I am able to assume an appropriate decorum in polite company, but when I go one-on-one with somebody, I act just the way I do on this board. And, like everybody else, I have no control over how I come across in print, just as I have no control over how I come across in person. I am who I am, yet maybe who am, is not who people think I am. That's where the element of misunderstanding enters the picture. But this is what human nature is all about. Unfortunately, it becomes human fraility when we fool ourselves.
To you, a-womon, I would say that you are merely a expedient person who wouldn't show the confrontational side of your personality if it was to your disadvantage to do.

Cyn,

That is exactly what I mean. My point is that no one should read a board and think that what they read is all a person is and then go on to form an opinion of how the person would conduct themselves in other situations. anyone who would draw such conclusions may be thought by some to be somewhat foolish... that's all I'm saying.

No one said "all the time". No one said you "couldn't" change. We are talking about perceptions.** Insert ABM's Aug 22, 05:55 pm **

No one said you were not multifaceted!

And no one said always.

However we all said about the same thing, all but **insert name**

Oh, I interviewed my 6th grade teacher in front of the PTA.

Thanks Again ABM, we gonna have to get a room if we keep this up.

Seriously, if I had your command of the English language and could spell at the level of an eight grader I would be dangerous, I'm jealous!

But for some reason I think we're missing out. Now if people are saying they come here and laugh their ass off and others say they are engrossed in the intelligent exchanges and informative chit chat we being pimped :-). Ol'boy Troy let it slip the other day when he spoke of packaging this thang. uuuummmmmmm

I'm beginning to feel like a ten cent wh(*&e. We don't even get a kiss. This must be what they are talking about when they say the gift is in giving. Hell, I like cheese <<<<<where did that come from? Anyway my good man, we are going to have to show up at one of those Negro Balls they keep talking about. Yeah, might run into sumtin'.

Okay, that's it, I'm gone.

...So young lady, yes the world is watching and Yes, some have created a picture of you, an image that, right or wrong is how they see you.

Carey, Im not being a smart azz neither, but could you tell me what you meant when you wrote this line if you were not saying that people would read what I write and say this is the person that I am?

No carey, I'm not talking about changing, and I'm not talking about changing your persona to fool people so you can "act a fool". I am talking
about being the person you are, but knowing when to be professional, when to let down your hair, when to speak the language of the streets, when to be a lady, and yes, when to be opinionated and confrontational and maybe even fiesty. Im talking about a 4 dimensional picture (hmmmmmm, or is it 3?) well anyway, Im speaking of being a whole person who is all of these things, but not always displaying all at the same time.

So that's why I
I said that you cannot form an intelligent determination of one's personality, or charatacater nor their behavior in different settings, based on what you read on a one dimensional board.

ahahhhahahaha!!! Yaw silly!! Botha you.

Carey, feature this:
We're ridin down the road enjoying all the beautiful summer scenery along the Iowa countryside. We pass some little children laughing and playing in the shade of a big old fashioned truck full of just picked corn, with their mother keeping a watchful eye, and dad catching some zees sitting inside the truck behind the steering wheel. You toot the horn and the kids scream and giggle with glee and point at us riding by and their voices float on the wind as we pass "Man look at that car!," one exclaims. " Bing snap snap on that it's mine.." says another as their voices fade.
There is a breeze blowing my hair, because you have the top down on the candy apple red mercedes 2000 convertible. The breeze is not a cool kiss of a waning summer evening as one would expect, but a warm blast as from over heated oven. The approaching twilight is not strong enough to tame the blazing summer heat that has scorched everything it touches throughout the day. I glance down at the change in your ashtray picturing myself standing before a vending machine pushing the quarters through the slot and listening to the tinny cha chink as they fall down. I can taste the icy cold...

Now Carey, Lambd or somebody what happens next? Write another part to this story

A_womon,

Where has ANYONE unfairly discounted your other gifts, which I imagine are both broad and deep? I think I can safely assume we have all continued to engage you on your topic because we appreciate what you have to offer, notwithstanding your at times appearing a bit "feisty" and "confrontational". Perhaps, though, your less flattering traits have momentarily overshadowed your gleam.

A_womon, you could attribute myriad negative traits to me and in all likelihood be correct. In fact, the only thing I would vehemently deny being is...'dumb'.

Never at any point in my life have I been 'that'.

But most of the other unflattering stuff I have to varying degree been, at some point. So please don't consider yourself being unfairly singled out.

Carey,

I know what you are saying. I perhaps we should all figure out a way in which we can combine our contributions into some economic vehicle. Perhaps if a % of any proceeds are gifted to some worry charity or social endeavor, we might all feel better about how what we do here is being used.

And remember: We would never have had the great pleasure and honor of having met each other...were we not able to do this for free.

Abm writes:
"The issue may not so much what facet of our character presented here is truest, but rather which is most persuasive and indelible to the reader, who lacks the benefit of knowing much if anything else about the poster."

Cynique answers:
Yeah, yeah, right. I say that when people log on here, they reflect the "Thumper's Corner" facet of their personality, and other posters with their "Thumper's Corner" personas will respond accordingly. Folks are going to be they want to be, so we all should just take it in our stride, and keep on truckin.
Abm also asks:
"Based on what you witnessed me discuss on this Board, how would you characterize me?"
Cynique revs up her ESP and responds:
My impression of you is that you are well-versed on many subjects, but rather verbose, and you really love the word "myriad." You are a big tease, and have a lewd sense of humor, but this is ameliorated by your ability to poke fun at yourself. There is also a hint of vulnerability about you.

greetings all,

i'll chime in for a minute. some people hide behind their words. they can sit in front of the 'puter and write you a soliloquy, but when you're face to face -- nothing. makes you want to throw a laptop in their face just to get them to dialogue.

and no, you can't read tone, attitude, perception, etc. from posts on boards, discussion groups, email, etc. sometimes someone may "think" they're being one way but another person may "read" it a totally different way. but nobody can control that but the person who's doing it.

so in a nutshell. don't psychoanalyze the people on the board, just go with the flow. people are going to type what they want, under whatever name they want and still be who they are.

okay, my minute is up.

Cynique,

Thanks! Though my viewpoint is biased, I can safely say that you've provided a succinctly accurate description of a major part of who/what I am. And your comments were not at all as painful as I imagined they might be. They were actually quite kind. :-)

Yeah, I do use "myriad" often. I don't know why, but its usage has become such an involuntary part of my discourse I am beginning to think it's a form of Turret's Syndrome.

This Thumper's Corner world is as real or faux as its participants would have it to be. But that is how all relationships are, really.

For me, this is a form of release or perhaps even therapy. Because, frankly, I don't think most of the people I know in the physical world are particularly interested in engaging me on the variety of subject matter that we enjoy here. My people, though educated, are not especially versed in topics that stray afield from that which immediately affect their daily lives. And I am not a practicing writer or artist of any kind. Nor am I an academician, social scientist or activist.

So maybe I do here what I can't do anywhere else.

PS: Recently, while attending a social gathering, I ran into a local media personality who provides socio-political. Though my views differ substantially from those of her's (she's pretty conservative), we ended up spending almost the entire evening talking/laughing together (my wife quipped I looked like I was trynah get ‘sum'). I think that although we disagree, we appreciated having that rare opportunity to partake of some fairly broad/in-depth discussion with another Black person.

A_Womon, see I am not a writer, I just like to tell stories and make people laugh. I try to stick to what I do best. That's run my mouth and tell stories. See, that breezy little story you penned was nice but I do not have the patience to sit down and write like that. My mind jumps around and so would my story, if it was a fictional account. So my dear, as much as I would love to ingratiate you and follow along, my heart ain't in it. I am sure some of the wanna-be writers could have a run at it but it ain't my kind of party. Don't get me wrong now. I have published works but my heart is not in it. I'm sure you've heard the saying, do what you do best or write what you know, well, I know nothing of driving a red 4000 LSC coupe down a dusty back road in Iowa. Now if you were talking about checking traps on the stroll I could jump right in :-). I know, I know, that may have gone over some heads. But really, why me? Beside, you're best when you're all up in someones grill talkingabout nigga this and B*&^h that *smile*! Indeed I could write along but.....my heart ain't in it. To tell the truth, writing or telling stories is not what I do best. BUT, we will have to save that for another day.

When is my guy Thump coming back anyway. You guys have really thrashed his house, you know that don't you *smile*. He's probably down at the hardware store looking for a big azz broom. Yep, he's going to clean house *lol*. Nah, Thump's cool, he's taking this all in stride. Cause like we've said, dis ain't nothin', been there, done that. So he's probably in his kitchen right now, cooking up something. Yes sir buddy, his fat nose is bending over a pot as we speak. Y'all know the boy can cook don't you. Oh yeah, brotha can burn......or at least he's convinced me that he can. But come to think of it, I ain't never tasted one drop of anything he's S A I D he's cooked. But I believe him *wink*. And Shoot, he probably got a chuckle or two out of all y'all showing y'all ass up in here. Notice how I seperate myself from the action. Hey, like ABM said, I've been called a many of things but dumb is not one of them. Beside, Lambdchop said I was The Sargent at Arms so that should mean something.........should it? I think we should vote on who we give up as a sort of sacrificial lamb. You know like, "Here o great Thump, take this fine young virgin.....(he won't know)virgin, and feast a plenty, grant us O' great one, many years of romping around in your garden. Take this fine dark beauty as a gift and show of our loyalty and appreciation. Please O Great One, grant us your blessing and your pity, for we know not what A_Womon was going to do. Please O Round Belly, let your wishes be that Cyn-Cyn doesn't get caught stealing anymore fingernail polish from the five n' dime. We lower our heads to thee. And one mo' thing O loving father of the board, tear out ABM's tongue if you please, rip out Lambchops heart, if you so desire but please please please have mercy on us all......especially Carey, he been good. So O great one take this young virgin *wink*, we found her on the block but she clean, do with her as you Please, and forgive us all".

What do you think? Think it will work? Do you think he will grant us all a pass?

We shall see......we shall see

You aint gotta write anything, I was just not sleepy last night and when you said you let me ride in your car and then said hey who took my change or something, that story just popped into my head and I thought it would be fun if everyone wrote a few lines, but no biggie..if you aint feelin it...you aint feelin it. :-)

If so, I might find it in my heart to ..........I gotta find my heart first. But yeah, go right ahead and finish it, that will surely help you sleep better. You know what you need though, you know that....don't you? Let's see, your in that red car on a dusty Iowa back road and a gang of smelly little po white trashy kids run over to you and ask you if you are holding.....opps , they ask you if yoou are that lady on TV. You look at them and say, What the F*&^ you little grumb snatcher talking about, get outta my face before I run you over. Then the throw you the finger and you pull out your gaat and say, "run you little b(*&^r's cause am bout to F*&# you up.

Lord knows I've wanted him since that first day at the prison when I went in to visit my half=brother, Renaldi. Carey was his cell-mate, and sort of adopted Renaldi after he got gang raped by the Tarzans. The Tarzans are a jailhouse gang of flaming homosexuals that lift weights and prey on half latino brothers with round asses. Their trademark loincloths and tatoos of chocolate donuts are how they pick each other out in the crowded penal systems that mark the Bible Belt.

I was taking pictures of Renaldi's stitches for upcoming civil suit when Carey walked in. Sure he was much older, but he had that certain something...a sort of "I'm the man, so if you want me, you'll have to earn me," look about him.

Sorry, Woman, I did my best. I thought you would like what I did with your beginning and carry it on. The way you always chasing after Carey, I think you just upset because I put all your deep yearnings for that man out on Front Street...Heheheh. Show her that picture again, Carey. Watch her get all silly and start sweatin' and swoonin' and carrying on. That dark smooth chocolate skin. All that wavy hair and muscular build..."Ooooh my! You sho' is a good lookin' man, Mistah Carey. I'd drop my hankerchief for you anyday. If you not doin' anything later, Mistah Carey, I sho' would like to have yo' little wavy head, chocolate baby."

Rest assured those muscles and waved hair are gone. I'm just plain ol'Carey. I can still make some smile but I doubt if I could pick anyone up and carry them across a thresshold. Those days are gone. So Y'all can fantasize all you want, you would be disappointed. Orange jump suit......LambdChop, you sick man......but funny!

But I bet I can still take ol'Thump in a game of Arm Wrestling :-).

"we found her on the block but she clean, do with her as you Please, and forgive us all".

That so reminded me of The Color Purple when Pa told Mister that he could have Celie, but she ain't fresh though, she spoilt, twice."

See, I can't crack the door because you two will just ram right through it. I ain't going to get all caught up in that mess. So why don't we all just slow down and back out of this one.....okay. We don't have to continue with this, we can just move around some and start anew. Deal?........I knew you'd understand. So, what's the weather like out there? Who's going to win the World series?

This is interesting. I sent my son a cut and paste e-mail from my post on The Dying Ground because he just finished reading it and he said my post didn’t sound like me. He said I sounded “old woman ghetto” – which is what I am actually, an old [insert sad face here] woman in the ghetto. He says this adds a 3rd personality to my persona. Before I was mother and silly friend [I haven’t grown up either Cynique. Sometimes when I say or do something silly he looks at me and asks “how old are you"?] and now I’m an old woman ghetto postee. hahahahaha!
