Hey ya'll,
I lived in northern Italy (about an hour from Venice) for a year during my Air Force days. For the most part, they treated a brothuh with respect. Don't know if it was because I am American or because I was in the military. However, the Africans were looked upon with disgust because many of them were beggars or street vendors. I spent a beautiful weekend in Rome where most nationalities (tourists) were represented well. That was in 1994. I don't know how much it's changed since then. |

In Europe, they've always hated Africans....but been welcoming to Black Americans...because they're AMERICAN and have tourist dollars. Ditto Egypt and Ethiopia.
In France, to this day...there are dance clubs where Black American men are allowed to enter, but not African men. Of course, all black females are allowed in.
