Hello All,

I have a big question for anyone familiar with Mildred Taylor's book series featuring the Logan family, how many books are in the series? And could you give it to me in chronological order. The reason I'm asking is that I have a 9 year old niece who loves to read (yep, it's the blood *smile*) and I am thinking of getting her the complete series for Christmas...hint, hint. If anyone could drop the titles for me, I would appreciate it.

Hey Thumper. I am an expert on Taylor's works. I have taught them for more than a decade. Here is the order" Song of the Trees; Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry; Let the Circle Be Unbroken; The Road to Memphis; and The Land. There are a few shorter novels that feature the Logan family. They are Mississippi Bridge; The Well; and The Friendship. I'm sure that your niece will enjoy this wonderful gift. I can't wait until mine is old enough to receive such a gift. REK

Roll of Thunder is one of the best books I ever read as a youngster - I have read it again many times as an adult - it's funny, sad, and a whole lot more. Your niece will love it.

WOW! I didn't know that she was again continuing the story; I can't wait to read it. I loved the last book, The Land. In fact, I had to purchase several copies because I refused to lend my original copy to anyone. Perhaps when it is released, we can dialogue about it on this discussion board. REK
