What nonfiction titles are you reading or looking forward to reading. I just put in a request for the following:

Wrapped in Rainbows - Valerie Boyd

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair that Changed the World - Erik Larson

Random Family - Adrian Nicole LeBlanc

The Only Girl in the Car - Kathy Dobie

Couldn't Keep It to Myself: Testimonies from our Imprisoned Sisters - Wally Lamb

I know we had a thread about the Hurston book. Anyone familiar with the other titles?

Hello Bayou Lights,

I read Wrapped in Rainbows. I heard of The Devil in the White City and Random Family. There is one that I am interested in, The Sons of Mississippi.

I'm about to check out "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore since in this book the author trashes George Bush pretty good. Moore's film short "Bowling for Columbine" is also up for an academy award.

I just picked up John McWhorter's Authentically Black at the library. I think I may agree with some of the things he says. I'll let you know.

Hmmmm, I have the Wrapped in Rainbow and A Life in Letters dealing with Zora Neale Hurston, but doubt I'll read them anytime soon, they're BABs.

I don't read much non-fiction, but here are recent ones on my list that I HAVE to read:
Unchained Memories: Readings from the Slave Narratives
The Black Woman's Guide to Winning at Divorce and Recovery

I also recently purchased:
Growing Up King
Freedom in the Family
Deals with the Devil
