I used to rush out and get each Easy Rawlins mystery as it came out. I stopped around Bad Boy Brawley Brown.

I just got around to reading this one, which came out in 2007.

When I dig a book, I read it in every waking and free moment. I had to force myself through this one.

Seemed like Walter is getting tired of Easy, just going through the motions.

Well, that happens when you are writing about the same character over and over--particularly in a genre where, in the real world, the character would have quit or been seriously maimed or killed somewhere during the first book.
