( I was sent a coupon in my box!)

When is free food not the deal it's made out to be? When it's fake!
Inboxes are being flooded with an e-mail offer for a free Wendy's classic double hamburger with cheese and a medium drink. The offer, supposedly made in connection with Allstate, is touted as a reward for people who have bought stock in Wendy's.
Unfortunately, the offer is bogus, according to the scam-sleuthers at Snopes.com. Although the e-mailed coupon looks deliciously authentic, down to the dotted line to help you cut it out correctly, neither Wendy's nor Allstate has issued such an offer.
Wendy's is featuring a mustard-yellow "fraud alert" on its website. The coupons won't be accepted at any Wendy's restaurants, the chain says. If you're hungry for legit coupons, the company advises, sign up for "WendyMail" online.
