Lynching Talent: Decapitate Dream 4.4.06

I know you know that I know every fiber of my worth
I just wish I were on a planet where others saw my worth
I can't lie and say that it does not matter because it does.

I wish I lived in a world of my own
'Cause here,
Few people really care about the being, the spirit called FANIA
Progress or no progress, they don't see my spirit
And so I continue on simply because I know my worth

I share my thoughts with my paper and pen, my friends
For my paper and pen will never judge me
My paper and my pen are never envious of me
On this freeway, drivers want power over me
And since they can't decapitate me
They leave me to the lions’ command

Do you know how many powerful people I know?
Many have the power to actually boost my night flight
Just by making a single call to another power-
I know these people...
They laugh with me and dine with me
They say I am "so, so beautiful"
But deep inside,
They don't really want me to prosper
To them,
Helping me prosper
Is like decapitating their power

...Power Over Me....

Philosophically sound.

The opening line kind of through me off rhythm wise but I can see what you are looking at with your third eye.

Have you ever thought about entwining more prose into your poetry or do you prefer the undefined structure?

Thank you.

"Have you ever thought about entwining more prose into your poetry or do you prefer the undefined structure?" Rondall

Nah-I prefer my defined structure. In college I had a brilliant professor who once told me: Fania, every rule and regulation was made by another human being. You too can create your own rule.

Since then, I became more confident to let my art control me.

So be it then...there is an incredible caché of talent that subscribes to free flow.

And if Troy has no objections, I will even leave the free advertisement for the book.

Thanks again Fania

I like the concept. But this poem doesn't flow to me at all. It lacks clarity, creativity and detail.

"It lacks clarity,creativity and detail."

Thanks for the comment Jackie. You are so right. I told the spirit that I was lacking...the spirit said: Write the freaking poem-not a novel.
