Has anyone heard about this nonsense? She is a child poet (I do somewhat suspect the source of her poems but she is very talented) how can she be racist?

http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004772.htm

How much power can she have at 7 yrs old?

Rondall,

I saw this on the news many weeks ago--very interesting! I consider all of my children to be intelligent. However, I have one (very) highly gifted child, so I believe that, while it is not common, this little girl is capable of composing such pieces. What I question is the nature/content of her work. It appears to me that she is creatively regurgitating what the adults around her talk about. It's not the typical work of an average, 7 year old who has a poetic flare.

I don't consider her work to be racist, but I understand why some people do. For the people who feel threatened, I think it's because they refuse to be open to the idea of comprehending the content of her work in an objective manner. Unfortunately, they are also the people who need her message the most.

There are two types of "poet" One who goes to school (an institution) to learn how to write and another who writes with his or her THIRD EYE. A gifted poet is a prophet.

Age has nothing to do with it.

YESAYAH:
"A gifted poet is a prophet."

Moonsigns:
I disagree. "Gifted" poets can write amazing poetry and also be racist individuals. And having racist thoughts/ideas is not something that is divine in origin.

I did a wee bit of reading up on her father. Seems he is in the NOI. Very interesting. That thickens the plot.

Let's not mix interior power with exterior power. Not everyone will understand the work of a gifted poet. A gifted poet is a prophet. He or she writes to please the spirit-not the flesh.

"Life is poetry. Death is poetry
Life after death is poetry. Therefore, express yourself"Understanding The spirint Within

Yesayah,

In one sense, I can agree with you about "a gifted poet" but your definition is self-serving and lacks validity.

If so few people grasp what a poet is saying then their poems only serve themselves(or their soul). For instance, if I played music that had no identifiable structure, but for me it was a masterpiece to my soul, then I should most likely keep my music to myself (or continue to share it with the world and proclaim how un-hip everyone else is because "they just don't get it"). Poetry/art/music/literature must at some point lend itself to a mass opinion but not necessarily garner mass appeal.

Now back on subject: this young lady is incredible as a poet and not just for her age. Although she espouses the same old diatribe that has been making the poetry grind for the last 40 years I like her poems.

The subject of her racism robs from the substance of her poetry. She is a product of her environment. Being taught to hate and distrust will lend her talent to right about the same things. However, I don't believe that her since of self awareness nor her background of Black Nationalism should necessarily constitute racism.

Nor is it proper to snowball her popularity into a "press lynching". She is a 7 yr old child who is now being attacked in the national media. 7 yrs. old??!! I consider the attacks on her a far more egregious attrocity than her saying that the White man is a devil. Racism is an unfortunate fact of her life, and the tragedy is that her talent is being trampled by it.

Greetings 2 All. I am not really responding to anyone's responses here, just saying what it is I feel to say.... And with this said...

She is a WARRIOR PRINCESS who also happens to be a wordsmith!

LOL Bout racist. Whoever says this sista is a racist should refrain from saying anything about anyone (about racism) until he/she really learns that "racism" is first a political term. That is where the question of power should be raised.

As for her power, though. To be able to SEE and SPEAK on that which is seen (and fearlessly) is to be much more powerful than those who DO and SEE yet turn a blind eye or those who see and habitually turn the other cheek.

This little warrior is only one of her generation who will let it be known that virtual slavery will NOT be the youth's way of life. They, unlike MANY of their elders, will NOT sit passively sit by as they are exploited and systematically destroyed.

No I am not N.O.I. but PROPS to her father for not waiting for the WORLD to turn her whole little Utopian world upside down. Props to MY father for loving me and our people enough to let me and my brother know what was up, too.

She is WARRIOR first... poet and all the other great stuff she is, she is so NEXT.

Some of her poem:
*************
White Nationalism Put U In Bondage

White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirate and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
Drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel, tricks and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look in our streets
The mis-education of she and Hegro — leaves you on your knee2grow
Black lands taken from your hands, by vampires with no remorse
They took the gold, the wisdom and all of the storytellers
They took the black women, with the black man weak
Made to watch as they changed the paradigm
Of our village
They killed the blind, they killed the lazy, they went
So far as to kill the unborn baby
Yeah White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
They drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel laden feet, throw in the tricks alcohol and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look at our streets

*****

I just hope that this warrior princess does both: masters her fire AND refuse to let her scared ass elders/peers water her down. But in time she will see that noone but her can do the latter. As for mastery, I am confident that her wisdom will be as fine wine... only refined with time.

In the spirit of our ancestors who loved and continue to love freedom and justice, I salute our little warrior princess and all who put liberation before image. A luta continua... Victory is certain!
