Is this a woman thang?

Fellas, how many of you have ever seen, say, Colin Powell on tv and said, "Oooh! I just got to buy me a tie like that!"

Why would you want to have clothes just like what somebody else was wearing?

I bet ain't no black women running out and buying one. If anything they are trying to sell that thang. Black women will go home if they see someone in "their" dress...and never wear it again...well, in that city.

You know white women are funny. They will do the bump on the dance floor with another white women.

They will sell their body for a black man and go around the corner and call him a N**ger.

If a lady of mine said she was going to buy a dress like Mrs. Obama, I would tell her that I was going to start talkin' like Al Sharpton and dressing like Daffy Duck.

I hope Michelle has an endorsement deal or is getting getting some sort of royalty for helping to hock Ricco wear.

Politicians and their wives are not allowed to accept endorsement deals while running for or while in office else they will be accused of having special interests should that company donate money to their campagne or endorse them in some way.

And you can't collect royalties unless you have a contract with a vested interest.

Too bad. Because Michelle just gave Rossi about 10 million bucks of free advertising.

Hope she can get paid on the backend 8 years from now.

No, I am a Black woman and I would never buy a dress I saw somebody wear on TV (or anyplace else). But then again, I demonstrated my lack of fashion forwardness on the SATC/shoe thread!

BTW, it is interesting that Michelle O is being compared to Jackie O in her fashion sense. I hope that starts folks talking about the designer of Jackie Bouvier's famous wedding gown: http://www.toastandstrawberries.com/threadsoftime/annlowe_dress.htm

Nothing some Apple Bottom jeans and a baby tee won't cure!

I keed.

But seriously, you've got a frame like Michelle Obama's. You could rock her look! Just have the Mister call me around your bday time, and I will make sure he hooks you up.

Imitation is the sincerist form of flattery but I certainly find it ludicrous that women would run out and buy a dress that looks like the one worn by someone well-known!
