Jeremiah Wright (Barack's former pastor), Maggie Williams (Hillary's campaign manager) and Robert Johnson (BET's Publisher) all seem to be disingenuous and very jealous so-called (regular) black Americans who are intent on destroying the presidential hopes of the only bonafide "African American" (in the most literal terms) to have ever had a real chance at becoming the first "black" president of the United States. Are Negroes stupid, or what...

Jeremiah Wright is going out of his way to destroy Senator Obama's campaign. This is a man who married the Obamas, baptized the Senator and his children. He is coming off as vengeful and jealous right now, clamoring for the spotlight that has eluded him all these years-at Senator Obama's expense. More mystifiying is why Senator Obama did not see this coming...

Maggie Williams has known the Clintons since their days in Arkansas. And because Maggie is black she is under no obligation to help Senator Obama. Maggie is showing the kind of loyalty that is sadly missing in Rev Wright.

I wish Jeremiah would go and sit down somewhere honestly...he is doing a complete disservice to OB's campaign...

Jeremiah Wright really, really should shut the Fvck Up! While there is nothing that he is saying that is wrong; all he is doing is making things worse. Now is not the time.

Surely he realizes this. What disturbs me is why Wright continues to feed the Clinton Machine with his words. Is he too benefiting financially? Or is he so shallow that the media attention that he is getting for 5 minutes is more important. I don't get it.

Presumably Robert johnson has so much money that is is not beholden to the Clinton Machine or any one. Perhaps he is; maybe they have something on him that would put him under the jail -- that would not surprise me. But Johnson has never been described as the most righteous Brother -- just the richest.

Maggie works for the Clintons waddya expect.

The vast majority of Black folks I know support Obama, I spoken to a few who actually support Hilliary and are also not beholden to the "Machine".

These Clinton supporters tend to be smart folks. However they tend to ascribe much more ability, talent and brains to Hillary than is warranted and give Obama much less than is justified. They say they are simply selecting the "best" candidate regardless of race.

They are being fair, open minded and color blind.

They also make me sick to my stomach.

------

Harlem is gone. Black folks still running around trying to figure out happened.

Here is what happened Black politicans did not give a crap about the people, they were mostly interested in enriching themselves, while at the same time keeping Black folk in the dark about what was really going down.

In the meantime, instead of pooling resources and buying property, we busy running around complaining about the white folks who are acquiring property.

Can someone tell me when we became so GD simple?

Where is the next Black Mecca? Surely there is a community somewhere in this country (or planet) where there is a promise of a community of Black people who stick toegther, suport each other, can maintain a family, provide decent education to our youth, is safe, with business, and places for spiritual growth...

Senator Obama spoke out against Rev Wright today, saying he totally disagrees with him. I am not sure that is true, but I talked to some folks that are furious with Senator Obama for throwing the Rev under the bus.

With his swollen ego, Rev Wright will have to respond. It is gonna get ugly. If the stakes were not so high, it might make a good movie. The older mentor betrays his young rising star...

However, this is not Hillary's fault. Look at how many Clinton supporters have turned on them. There are no friends in politics; only ENEMIES and AGENDAS. ugh.

So true. Now Obama is in danger of getting a black lash from the back lash he defended himself from. In interviewing the man in the street, however, the feedback one local TV station received from those approached was that Obama had to do what he had to do. Nobody condemned him or praised Wright. The black female columnist in a Chicago newspaper wondered why Obama and Wright didn't just pick up a phone and thrash things out instead of going public. A prominenet black minister interviewed on The Today Show characterized Wright as ego-trippin and chided Reverend Wright for trying to imply that he was a typical black minister. And the beat goes on.

(Obviously they can't. Wright probably wants a cabinet post or something Obama can't do for him.

It's a train wreck and all we can do is watch.)

(The same place as Xanadu, Brigadoom, and Neverneverland.)

Regardless of what Reverend Wright does he will sell some more books: http://aalbc.com/authors/jeremiah_wright.htm

Chris, there has to be a place -- somewhere where Black folks live in relative harmony, or at least a place where there is a strong potential....

...a nice neighborhood -- something.

I know a lot of folks up here are heading to Atlanta and Charlotte, but I've never heard of either being described as next next black cultural center. Mostly folks say it is just less expensive and there is less snow.

Actually, Black Enterprise lists the top places for African Americans to live each, let me see if I can dig that up the latest list...

The media and some politicians were all over Wright about the big mansion that his church was giving him. they were trying to dig up a reason to go through his "books" when he first came on the scene with "God damn America" now all of a sudden, that's all gone away. Troy I think you might be on to something when you say that Wright may be gaining something finanacially. It certainly does smell like he's been bribed to bring Obama down.

Chris here is Black Enterprise's list of the top Black Cities to live work and play: http://www.thumperscorner.com/discus/messages/179/36367.html

A_womon, I thought Wright being paid off was an extreme possibility, but now seems very likely.

I mean if they can find a Brother to gun down Malcom X in front of his wife and kids, surely drumming up a brother to talk shit about Obama to the biased, scandal hungry, media should be more problem at all.

Do you folks really think that a man of the cloth would sell his soul for 15 minutes of fame or that he could be bribed into doing something that would earn him a place in history as the person who jeopardized the chances of a black man becoming president???
Me, I think Wright is caught up in the moment and has too much ego to back down or chill out. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't consider himself Obama's sacrifical lamb and that God is on his side. He's just that deluded. IMO.

”Jeremiah Wright really, really should shut the Fvck Up! While there is nothing that he is saying that is wrong; all he is doing is making things worse. Now is not the time.”

This is true. But don’t forget Troy, Obamas detractors and political enemies are going full throttle to exploit Rev. Wrights comments in order to put him on the defensive. If Obama was not running for president –you would never have heard the mans name. No one would care.

”Surely he realizes this. What disturbs me is why Wright continues to feed the Clinton Machine with his words.”

No doubt. Clinton and McCain are both immensely benefiting from this carefully and relentlessly exploited situation with Rev. Wright.

”Is he too benefiting financially? Or is he so shallow that the media attention that he is getting for 5 minutes is more important. I don't get it.”

Well, since the press is hyping the significance and the critical importance of Rev. Wrights beliefs(?) and the fact that Obama was once a member of his church, they are coming to him –seeking and requesting interviews and speeches from him. While I don’t share all of his controversial beliefs, he is cashing in on all the attention he is getting (only because of Obama’s desperate enemies). What next? A book or movie….?????

”It certainly does smell like he's been bribed to bring Obama down.”

I don’t know if he is being bribed, but he is, as I said, cashing in on all the new found attention and publicity. Don’t forget folks, the entire Rev. Wright hysteria only exists because of those who are frantically trying to undermined Obamas chances for the Democratic nomination and a run for the White House. Just about every black person in American knows of another black person who thinks exactly like Rev Wright. Why is he so special (and white folks could care less what is being said in black churches!)? America didn’t care what he was saying before. Why now??? One reason: TO DRAG OBAMA DOWN OR CRITICALLY COMPROMISES HIS POLITICAL CAREER. Don’t believe the hype!
