I mean like the GROUND daddio!

I was up this morning at 4:30 am (I usually arise early so I can contemplate and be tormented by apocalyptic visions) when the whole house started shaking.

Reports on the radio said it lasted from about 10-20 seconds--I wasn't counting. I just know it was a long time---too long.

I was just about to recover my bravado when, about45 minutes it started again--not as bad this time but never pleasant though an all the way live experience---can't no Screamin' Eagle compare to that.

Anybody else in the quake zone?

The earthquake originated in New Salem, Illinois, so tremors were felt throughout the state which is on the New Madrid fault. I slept through it. I think this phenomenon of nature, which is rare for these parts, is a sign. Of what I don't know. But Obama is the senator from Illinois.

5.2? Yeah, that’s enough to wake up a few folks. I used to find earthquakes kind of fun. It’s a funny feeling – shaking and wobbling around with no control. But when I became a homeowner it wasn’t so fun anymore. When we had the somewhat more than midsized one in 1996 [or was it ’97?] I was terrified my little house would come crumbling down any second. Not Fun! Just recently they reminded us that we are overdue for the “big one” and should expect it w/in the next 30 years. Maybe even today!!!

Ha ha ha LOL ! Good one !

5.2 is a sizable earthquake...but here in Southern California, it's just a head turner. Now when it starts to get higher like 5.5 and up. That's an earthquake. LOL !

Yeah boy.

When it first started I thought it was funny. Then it kept on. Then I was wishing it would stop. And it wouldn't stop.

Run to the rock and the rock won't hide you--

We are overdue for a real big one (8.0 plus on the Richter scale) all the geologists can tell us is "It's comin')

Maybe we shouldn't be reading any continued stories....

While out and about enjoying the temperate April weather this evening, I couldn't help but notice how big and red the moon appeared. It gradually turned gold but it was still verrrry eerie. I resisted the urge to howl at it, but I cannot shake the idea that these rare occurrences are sign of something... Woooooooooo.
