The Swiftboat ads--y'all remember them.

Kerry was doing well until the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth assaulted his war record--you remember the fool set hisself up when he started all that "Reporting for Duty" nonsense.

The ads were bad enough but his silence did him in. It seems that all his time in the Senate in a safe seat robbed him of the gut fighting instincts you need in a campaign for the highest office in the land.

When he tried to fight back a few weeks later it was too late.

He looked like a punk.

Nobody can be the leader of the country and be a punk.

Obama right now seems to be falling prey to the same syndrome. I'll bet he got a lot of white folks around him who are telling him it will not look good if he beats up on the white girl.

The Clintons have no such scruples.

They punked him in Ohio on that NAFTA stuff (seems that the Clinton staff was in Canada saying the same thing but he never brought it up) the picture of him in the African dress, etc.

He looks like a deer caught in the headlights. I don't care how much of a lead he got if he looks like a pussy he ain't got a prayer--the special delegates will go whole hog for Clinton.

Oh well.

Maybe he'll do better next time--if there is one.

Chris,

Obama's dilemma is his campaign is built on his signaling a CHANGE from what Hillary is trying to pull. So I think he should avoid doing what he's doing. BUT I also think it well within bounds to acquaint foks with what Hillary is pulling and inform them that the everything Hillary is pulling now would be even MORE effectively used against HER should she be nominated.

A Rep congressman said Al Qaeda will be "dancing in the streets" if Senator Obama is elected. Talk about swift boating!! Talk about fear-mongering!

That's just a taste of what the GOP has in store for Senator Nice Guy.

Robynmarie,

And those very same foks aren't going to do the same or worst to the Clintons??

The same Clintons who refuse to release their tax returns; sold military intelligence the Chinese; pimped out the Lincoln Bedroom; partook in and/or covered up SCORES of women being sexually molested by Slick Dyck Bill, had a couple of dozen of their political allies and operatives killed off, etc.???

Chile, it's like you and your kind are so brand new you don't know WTF is going to go down.

Believe you me, the GOP is SALIVATING and sharpening its knives at the prospects of Hillary being nominated.

The difference is Billary will fight back.

I keep remembering what Mike Huckabee said: "Never under-estimate the lengths the Clintons will go to win."

I'm sure the GOP will drudge up all the past Clinton scandals. But how effective will they be in getting Independents to vote for John "100 year war" McCain?

BTW, I don't think the Clintons have ever lost an election, have they?

Robynmarie,

Hillary's votes to fund the war PLUS her voting to deem Iran to be a terrorist state pretty much negates ANY legitimate criticisms she has of McCain on the subject of warmongering. If anything, any of her criticism of McCain are going to be spun against her to label her a weak, indecisive waffler who has been just positioning herself for a presidential run and is too dayam scared to stand on her prior commitments and word.

When the GOP are done, the general viewpoint by everyone is going to be something to the effect of At least we KNOW what McCain's going to do with Iraq but given her prior word and acts we can't know WTF Hillary will do. Who the hell know what those slick, lying, doubledealin' Clintons are going to do.

And I haven't even mentioned how during a McCain v. Clinton contest the Clintons are going to be effectively blamed for creating the environment that facilitated 911.

So it going to get distilled into some very simple questions: Which do you want to be in charge of protecting America? The warhero whom we KNOW will protect us? Or the slick, lying, doubledealin' Clintons who helped GET us into this mess to begin with?

I don't know whether or not the Clintons have lost elections (though, I think, Bill lost a time or 2 in Arkansas). But, regardless, I don't think their prior electoral batting average is going to matter much.

ABM certainly does give voters a lot of credit. The averagae person doesn't care about all the convoluted machinations that went on during the Clinton's adminstration 10 years ago, or about somebody's tax returns, or why who was pardoned and why.
Once people make up their minds who they like, they go with their gut. If who they like doesn't make the cut, then they go with who they can stomach.
Politicians tread slippery slopes when they start accusing each other of shady dealing because everybody has skeletons in their closets.

And reports that McCain is a war hero have been disputed. He was a fighter pilot who got shot down and was taken prisoner. Like hundreds of other hapless POWs he survived. He never showed any extraordinary valor or sacrificed his life for others. There are allegations that he has embellished his record because there are no eyewitness reports to verify his claims of self sacrifice. It not a stretch to consider that he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. There are also rumors that as a fighter pilot he put a U.S. aircraft carrier out of commission due to wreckless ineptness.

most officers in the mlitiary are pussies, sorry to be so vulgar but that's the truth. they don't become real soldiers until they have been actually out of school and got their hands dirty with the real soldiers. my guess was he was just like the rest of these pussy-ass college kids who got out of the r.o.t.c and then come to a base as a lt. or a captain but don't know sh%t but what they've read about.

as a specialist i knew more than half of those asses that where officers, i even knew a couple of officers who couldn't even use a damn compus. they come to our platoons being assigned a real soldier so that the real soldier can show them how to be a real soldier. so mc cain was probably just thinking he could fly his plain like "top gun" and got popped, probably put up any struggle and was scared shitless because real life situations aren't in the books. mc cain sucks balls! and any asian who vites for him is just plain stupid considering that he calls them gooks and chinks still.

Obama needs to destroy that scum--I believe that the "Monster" comment was a shot across the Clintons' bow--you know Katherine Power knows the rules. She did that to show what they can do

And that is bring the whole fucking thing down like Samson did the Temple

It's Obama's move.

(They have never really WON one.

Had not Ross Perot been in the race Clinton would have lost. He never had more than 40% of the vote. Hillary got handed a gift when Giuliani dropped out because he was sick.

You people LOOVE those Hillbillies. It proves to me that the way to get along with Negroes is to kick their butts and then make love to them

Hmmm. Pimp style, ehh?

Hillary Clinton is not a hill billy. She is strictly white middle class suburbia. When it comes to distortion, you are as bad as any of the people you accuse, chrishayden! That's why I dismiss 99 per cent of what you rant about.

Dobes,

Much respect, bruh. But you're straight TRIPPIN' if you think America is going discount the heroism of who in defense of his country was captured and tortured for five years.

That sh*t is NOT going to happen.

Especially when that mofo is from a family that has fought in every major American theater since the friggin' CIVIL WAR!

McCain can be beaten. But hero-bashing is NOT the route to a Democratic victory in November.

People were not appalled with those who bashed "hero" John Kerry when he ran for president.
Young voters don't give a damn about some old Vietnam vet who spent time lolling away in a POW camp.
