Yup. I self-identify as an Obama for president supporter, a feminist, married (since that seems to matter to some of you all), and a liberal. I am happy that this election has brought out issues of race and gender and places where the two intersect.
I do not think I have ever worn a "pants suit," but then again I am not much of a fashion-conscious person. I did not click on your link, but I hope we are not holding any candidate to the behavior of their rank and file supporters.
Chris (and others) have you gone to the Obama site and volunteered to call folks in Texas and Ohio? You know, the 1 millionth donor donated to the campaign the other day: If you were not one of them, there is still time to kick a few bucks his way. |

Yvette, we've talked about how people are surprised by your politics vis a vis your appearance and vice versa. One of the great things about meeting you (and Cynique) is that you refuse to fit into the little stereotypical boxes that enable some people to cope with their unbridled, unexamined insecurity and sense of inferiority.
It also helps that you are sane. :-) That's my criteria for interacting with people/acknowledging their existence, online and IRL--sanity. :-)

Too bad Hillary is degenerating into the ultimate tragedienne, a bereft figure, standing alone watching as her dream becomes a nightmare of her own making. She's pretty much done for. Even a rueful John Lewis has abandoned her.
But I will say, that McCain is certainly not all he's cracked up to be. He's a pseudo hero, with an undistinguished military career who capitalizes on having been a prisoner of war. It's been reported that his critics are taking a closer look at the NY Times claims about the romatic hanky panky vis-a-vis his shady lobby practices. Seems the allegation are based on very reliable sources and can be proven as true.
And - just wait, Obama's "feet of clay" - a term his wife used - will also be exposed. CBS Evening News and other investigastors are getting ready to expose his false claims and unspectacular record and lack of decision-making.
This campaign is going to get veeeery ugly. Because is not about issues any more. It's about which team can inflict the most damage on the other. Pure and simple: "us" against "them". |

did u know that the canadian dollar is damn worth the same amount as the u.s. dollar now? they come to michigan all the time and buy stuff like crazy ... at the rate that things are going, u.s. citizens will be trying to cross the border to live in mexico. hmmmm maybe i should have paid better attention in my espanol classes :-/ |
